So, am I crazy or what. Bought a S10 last summer, have my Multi up for sale, and I turn down a low but not unreasonable offer after a month of no responses. Problem is I am conflicted about selling it. I enjoy riding the darn thing despite the Brembo brakes trying to kill me on occasion (very quick to lock up). If the S10 is heaven, the Ducati is the devil tempting me to pass, split lanes, weave through cars, wheelie... Perhaps I shouldn't be selling but trading someone for a Hypermotard so I can look the part of a hooligan. It may not be doing anything for my life expectancy but there is something about them Ducati's, I can't let go. >:D

When I test rode one I found it to be as exhilarating a bike to ride as I have ridden. Those bikes have a lot of soul. A great streeter but I would not take that thing off road. It turns heads too, Ducati style and finish. As good as any.

If it's like most Ducati, it's not happy until about 90 mph.

How cheap is your insurance? How deep is your pocketbook when it comes service interval time? Desmo valves cost a tad bit more to get adjusted.

No doubt it's fun to ride. Hell, it's a Duc, of course it's fun to ride and gets looks. But it's a Duc, so it's expensive to maintain, gets the wrong people looking at it sometimes and worst of all... it has a chain! Never mind it's a carbon fiber magnet too. :D

Call the guy back that made you the offer and sell it. Or if you didn't already, counter offer. Regardless, in this economy, it's not a good idea to turn down an offer.

I am in the same boat with a Big Dog and in hindsight, I should have taken the low but reasonable offer 6 months ago. Still trying to sell it now. :(

No I am gonna ride it for at least another season. The chain is a non-factor and the maintenance woes are exaggerated, I would be worse off with a beemer or KTM. Insurance is not an issue. I have regretted the sale of most my bikes, the DR650 is the only one I was thankful to offload. The fact is there is something special about a Ducati and I am not ready to part with it.

It can do some dirt roads fine but it is a much better sport tourer than adventurer. The S10 is for the dirt now.

Enjoy the heck out of it then. Hopefully you'll have the time to ride both bikes.

Maybe i am the odd man but i say sell it. The way ducati is handling the gas tank issue has really turned me away from them. I had a 2009 mts1100s and a 2005 749s. I loved them but i would only ever buy a bike with a metal tank ever again.

Hey switchback,
I hear you loud and clear and ALSO can't part with my Ducati... Although its not quite the same beast as yours!
I was digging those Terra Mostro conversions a few years back. I also am tempted by the few Elefants and Gran Canyons out there. Both would likely be a better match for me however I am enjoying the Multi so WTF!

As for the tank issue, not an issue yet but it also concerns me but I cannot blame Ducati too much for the crap gas our govt is making us use. Keep the corn on the cob and out of my gas. That said they should have made some changes regarding the newer bikes. Seems some of them are affected too.

Nice try Graham. Not a fan of the strom but have always appreciated that SV650 engine.

Did you get the class action papers? Ducati basically said fu we arent changing anything till something more cost effective comes along. If i had a 2012+ bike i would be pissed. Fix the damn problem...its a $15,000+ motorcycle. To that i say screw you ducati.
