Haven't you and I already had this conversation? You and I have different opinions/definitions of "sporty"; it is what it is. If you think that the Tenere's steering is lethargic. . . . you might want to check your tire pressure. There is nothing wrong with the bike's handling for "normal" riding. . . . and it does well at 9/10s riding also.
Once again. . . . if you don't like it. . . . don't ride it. With all of the other bikes you have at your disposal. . . . it shouldn't be an issue.
Can you direct me to a single professional review that has described the Super Tenere's handling as sporty or perhaps agile? I don't recall ever seeing one.
I check my tire pressure on all my bikes on a regular basis. I agree, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the bikes handling for normal riding. Quick transitions is NOT normal riding. It IS aggressive riding. When riding at 7/10's and above its short comings become quite apparent but it is not designed for that. For reference the BMW 1250GS that I own shows it short comings at about 8/10's and above.
It depends on what other bikes you have experienced and what your baseline is. That is why I listed the bikes that I have personal experience with and can compare the Tenere to. As a professional motorcyclist that rides a ton of different bikes I stand by my statement that the Super Tenere is not sporty. Feel free to believe what you like.
As I have said numerous times the Super Tenere is a great bike. But, there are a ton of bikes that lean far more to the sporty end of the spectrum. Check Dirt Dad's thread on the KTM Super Adventure to see what sporty really is. No contest.
