Like a few others I have problems with the rear view mirror coverage on the S10 ::007:: In essence it would be great if they at least extended out to the ends of the bars ::008::

Yes there are mirror extenders available from a number of sources but I think they look a bit gash in situ. Sometime ago there was someone on the net selling replacement mirror stalks cut to your own custom length but these seem to have disappeared (they were available either "standard" or as a Yamaha specific left/right hand threaded set).

However ... while watching one of the recent youtube MT-09 review & test drive video posts filmed from the riders position I noted that the mirrors do seem to have much longer stalks.

Now I assume these use the same mounting thread size as the S10 so they are probably direct replacements ::022::

Some of the inmates here are purchasing MT-09's to extend their stable and I wonder whether they may be able to comment on such a swap.

Hey maybe this will be the update to the 2014 model, along with BNG?

Glad I don't have a mirror problem... My stock Super T mirrors are great. ???
Stock seat low position I'm 5'11" but only 50,000 miles so perhaps when I ride it more I will have a mirror problem.

Just compared the two, not going to gain you anything effective. Tenere mirrors are 1/2 inch shorter from stem to outside edge, but FZ-09 mirrors come almost to a point at the outer edge. SW-Motech makes a set of mirror wideners, make sure you get the Yamaha type as the right mirrors have left hand threads.

Bugger ... so much for a great idea :-[ Thanks for all the great feedback ... It's NOT a big issue but makes spotting the following C:) a little easier ::013::

O/k back to just ::001::

I put Super Duke mirrors on my '04 KTM Adventure...made it muuuuuuch better

I personally don't have any problem with the OEM mirrors on the Supa10

I went for a pair of cheap chinese made extenders, for one eighth of the price of the ones that SW Motech and Touratech punt out. Unsurprisingly as they were also S10 specific, they look the same and work just as well. Unobstructed rearward views are now an everyday commodity. :)

Well it seems that maybe Yamaha have been reading this thread as well ::022::

Looking at the early shots of the new 2014 Super Tenere it certainly looks like the new MT-09 mirrors have made it onto the new S10 as well ;D

I suspect that this is just a complete model revamp across the range with the mirror shape being morphed to a new pointy style ::008::

I'm 6'2" and around 200 pounds and I find the S10 OE mirrors are the best of my three bikes. I had to fit blind spot mirrors on my FJR and XJR, but found I don't need them on the S10. The view of the road directly behind the bike is exelent, another bike would have to be dangerously close for me not to see it.

www.cyccon.com has a big selection of mirrors that don't vibrate. They make the same mirrors Ducati sells at half the the price of Ducati. They have some with turn signals built in. I think Ducati Ds 1000 mirrors and monster use the same thread as Yamaha. Ds mirrors have a heavy duty stem, no vibes. They are in the Netherlands, but they ship fast to the US. Lots of people from Ducati website bought from the and they had a good reputation. Just throwing some info out.
