Moving the std screen up

The S10 blurb claims it has an adjustable screen, I have taken it off hoping to move it up a notch but cannot workout how to move the fixings as they will not come out of their holes on the bike mount.
Any ideas or clues?

Thanks

I'd have to check my manual but I'm pretty sure the oem screen is fixed. There are additional higher mouning holes but I believe these are for the oem high screen, not for raising the stock screen.

stock screen has a high and low setting.

pull it from the mounting and move the 2 black long plastic tangs either up or down.

You can do it.!!

Hi,
Buy an extra set of well nuts and you won't have to deal with moving them. Also the Cal Sci replacement knobs for the philip head screws makes it a piece of cake.

That I believe is the well nut OEM part number.
Later,
Norm

Putting the screws back in a couple threads will let you push those well nuts back in very easily.

I moved my screen up, the manual says not to, but I cant see any reason why not. I just spit on the grommets and squeezed.

::026:: what the others said. Moved my stock windscreen up after second day of riding. No problems.
Stock screen is fine for short trips for me. Haven't taken on super long road trip yet, but have plans to in a couple weeks. May consider changing to taller screen.

Granted I'm very sensitive to cosmetics

I'm the same way. I had to quit wearing makeup several years ago. And the wrong shaving cream makes my legs break out. R ::025:: ::025:: ::015:: ::012:: ::013::

I don't remember if it was here or on ADVrider, but someone reported running the windshield in the high position and wind getting in through the gaping gap at the bottom of the windshield, and doing some damage to the plastic behind the windshield. Far as I know the only reported problem, but the gaping gap between the headlight and the bottom of the windshield if it's mounted high is just ugly to me. I tried high for a day and could not stomach that ugly gap whether function was better or not. Back to intended low after that. Granted I'm very sensitive to cosmetics and things don't look right I can't have them on my motorcycles.
And "looking right" is stock trim as delivered

Well after all that the wind buffeting is nasty so gonna lower it back again and buy a taller screen.
The spec of this bike says it has an adjustable screen, if they don't recommend moving it up a notch then what is adjustable about it?

Well crap! I didn't see that, although plain as day in the manual now that I looked. I've been running it on the higher mount.

Living in Las Vegas, rain is pretty much a non-issue, except yesterday when I found myself in a downpour. My stock windshield was in the low position. Rain came around, over, and pretty much everywhere, soaking me and the bike. If none came under the screen, I can't say that it mattered a bit because wet is wet no matter how it got there. I was more concerned about the crappy visibility through my helmet visor. I might go back to my medium V-Stream screen when the weather cools down to the 90s and I no longer need my cooling vest for the commute.

My syock windscreen came already in the HIGHEST position. Either way the stocker is crappy. Got a 24 inch Parabellum which after some cutting I could manage to get into the LOWER position. Parabellum screwed up on their S10 windshield. The used an S10 with bar risers installed for their original measurements and refuse to fix the problem. My pal was ready to buy one and mentioned the problem to them before hand but they weren't very receptive. So he bought something else. ::007::
