Very good Rem! I'll be thinking of you next week on my ride to Texas and also other clear days this winter when I am still able to ride.

WEll, the deed is done. The oil is changed. Now I can focus on just being a dirty old egg suckin' dog for the rest of the winter. Hey, an acquaintance of mine just recently bought a BMW 1200 GS, a used one but fairly new. He wanted me to take a ride so, being the accommodating man I am, I did so. First time I was ever on one. Keeping it brief, in reponse to the current thread about if I'd have spend the extra money to get the Yamaha instead of the BMW .... Yes, I would. The BMW was a nice bike, but no better. Not at all. I'm keeping my Tenere.

You boys behave yourselves, don't be harassing the wimmin and childern and small animals, point your exhaust pipe north from time to time and backfire while you think about the poor old dog who is sans bike. I know you'll shed a tear, so dry up before you take off again.

And REMember ... A man who don't lie, ain't got nothin' to say. Send money. R

ODE TO SPRING .. or ... WELCOME TO THE YUKON ... or ... RAMBLINGS OF A DEMENTED OLD CODGER

Well, here it is the first of March, the start of spring some say
To that I say Moose Pucky, it's just another winter day
The snow is thick, the wind is cold, and not a blade of grass
The only good thing I can see, is no bugs to bite my ass

Spring will come when it always does, sometime later on
It will show one day, like a long lost stray, after the snow is gone
Mother Nature's such a bitch, she loves to mess with folks
But let her take her very best shot, then she can kiss my spokes

Soon I'll join the rest of you, on pavement, sand and dirt
I long to go outside and ride in nothing but a shirt
I long for days with the sun ablaze, and for a bike so far away
I long to park my ample ass upon my Tenere

In parting, I will leave this thought that helps to see me through
It will brighten up my morning as I sit and think of you
I look ahead and dream and plan of our meeting in July
I'll greet you with a smile, and the ubiquitous black fly

Hey, I'm old and I've got a cold and I'm grumpy ..... gimme a break. R

Yeah, no kidding. Screw that positive outlook CRAP. It's time for this winter BS to be over and done with. SUMBICH !!! But I mean that in the nicest way. When I say that Mother Nature can JUMA, I'm only suggesting that a warmer climate might cheer her up. R ::012::

Used to work in the woods with an ol' boy for whom upon arrival to the job each morning was THE signal. He would jump out the crew truck with a roll of necessity in one hand and be undoing his belt with the other. As he was making his way to the bushes the gent would loudly exclaim "Ma Nature, yer a hooker; I know yer gonna do (doo?) me afore the day is done!"

Perhaps she is exclusive of climate. :)
