Took the Super Tenere out for a Moto Gymkhana practice day recently. Did surprisingly well but no where near as nimble as the 500 I usually use for these events.

Still had a good time and really helps with confidence on slow speed moves.

This is the GS500 I have been normally been using for these practices and competitions.

Anyone else here dabble in this sport?

There are a bunch of us riders practicing motogymkhana here in the NY/NJ/CT area and we're getting connected with riders across the country, in the UK, Japan, and other parts of the world. Look up the "moto gymkhana nyc" group on FB.

It's tough on the S10, but manageable with enough practice. I sometimes go even 2-up with my wife on the courses and GP8.

My wife and I ride together quite a bit, but not sure this is really gonna work for us 2-up.

Very impressive picture though

This is the website for our local group, last year we had a DRZ400 out, but surprisingly small group here, and most of us ride whatever small light cheap bikes we already owned. I steal my wife's GS500, a buddy has an old Hawk GT, ect.

How come I don't see people on the little Super Motos, such as the WR250X? It seems like it ought to be a natural.
"The best bike for motogymkhana is the one you already have." The whole thing started from one guy who just wanted to practice riding around cones and improve his skills. The rest joined in for the same reason and we've seen various sport bikes, naked bikes, cruisers, dual sports, retro bikes, and even a gold wing. We did host a competition this year and the #1 guy had a steet legal KTM 450 smr, but he also had years of racing experience and made some of the fastest laps on his Ninja 1000. I practice on the S10 because it's my only street registered bike at the moment.
