Hmmm ... my XT is now 3 years old and as I'm currently stationed in the UK my bike has to undergo a specific certification process. It isn't a big deal as far as I understand it and it'll happen on Saturday ... should be interesting.

Don't worry yourself too much about MOT'ing your trusty steed. Given Yamaha's superlative build quality and the fact that you've probably looked after the bike really well, she'll likely fly through it.

Quite agree. I would be really surprised if the bike fails unless you have low tyre tread, blown headlight bulb etc.

Whereabouts are you stationed, by the way? If you are one of the Suffolk contingent you are not far from me and would be good to go for a ride some time.

Make sure your calipers have been cleaned, the pads in good order and the rear brake pedal is lubed. You get used to your bike and brake degradation over time, but the MOT man doesn't.

Not very interesting, any fairly new bike will sail through, I have had some right snotters (winter hacks) pass an MOT, if brakes / lights / horn work, tyres are OK and there is no play in wheel / steering head bearings etc it will be OK

Thanks for the info guys .... seems like a fairly straightforward process. Bikes in prime condition so should breeze though. ::26::

Matt .... those bases that you're referring to are where we catch our rides to the world's playgrounds. 8)
