I've seen a number of posts from members indicating they swapped out their shims. Just wanted to see if there's any commonality between changes. The ones I have seen being used is the 1.85 and 1.95. Any others?

I also have a bunch of shims from my vstrom that if someone needed, maybe a trade for the right size that I need?
If you don't have any to trade and still need one, let me know. Even at retail, there only a couple of dollars each.

I have shims from 2.40 mm to 2.95 mm in increments of .05 and I have a number of each one.

I haven't done my valves yet so I don't know what size I would need at this point, but I thought if I stocked up on the more common sizes I wouldn't have to wait to order them and I could get the job done in a day.
I also noticed that you buy shim refill kits from 1.80-2.05 mm. That's probably what I did for the vstrom.

I had it written down in the garage somewhere. I don't even start a valve adjustment unless I have a shim kit on hand. I can't be bothered running around to the dealer and all that jazz.

Ok, seems to be a pattern here. I ordered a hot cams refill kit with 5 shims per size 1.80-2.05 mm. That should cover it.

How much cheaper was that than the whole kit?

I paid 29.43 and free shipping, but it was on sale, looks like the price went up to 34.62 today.
Search Ebay for Hot Cams HCSHIM09 9.48 mm 1.80 - 2.05

I think the Kit's alot more isn't it. I try to buy what I need if I know the general range. I'm pretty sure it did the same for the Vstrom.
This guy has some good prices as well, but I don't know what he charges for shipping
