I decided to do the same thing. Thought if nothing else, I could use this new seat while I send my stock one out for customizing. Can't be worse than the stock seat. Should have mine next week.
I think you'll be happy with it.
Short 30 mile ride this morning and so far so good. Huge improvement over stock for me. Very hot near 100 degree day and humidity ~60%. I was only wearing jeans and they were damp already from wrenching and sweating in the garage. Normally the stock seat would already have my rear burning under those conditions. Moose did me fine though. I have a long ride on Saturday so will post back a better review.

The Moose seat is definitely higher than stock. Not so much that it would concern most but the fact you're thinking about buying a SC low seat might not make this the best choice for you. You could probably cut all the bumpers down closer to the rivets losing that extra height. Don't know if it would make any fitment issues for you though.

Thanks. Keep us posted. There are no reviews of this seat anywhere I could find so it would be good to get some info out there.

Follow up review after a full days ride. Seats are very personal so reviews are subjective and somewhat hard to quantify. Here is my best attempt.

Is this an all day comfort seat? Definite NO
Being basically the same width as stock seat you don't get that added cheek spread and support.

Is this seat an improvement versus stock? Definite YES
Much firmer support but with layer of gel making it instantly conform to your cheeks. The suede like top cover material is nice, doesn't heat up like vinyl. Bike was parked in the direct sun for an hour on 98 degree day and was still cool to the touch. Doesn't transfer the full sun heat to the gel like other gel seats.

My ride yesterday totaled 430 miles. First half of the day was very spirited pavement riding with a sportsbike group. So limited time (<5%) spent on the pegs and off the seat. But out of habit I did stand some as learned from the stock seat I must do it before sore (even riding highway) or else I'll be in pain the rest of the ride. My standing was probably 1/3 of what I normally do on pavement. Rode approx 250 miles and no butt burn whatsoever. Under the same conditions my butt would've been toast on the stock seat after 75 miles.

After that I rode about 100 miles of dirt/gravel roads. For that stretch probably on the pegs 25-30% of the time. After that I tried to sit the entire 80 mile pavement ride home but couldn't do so comfortable. Reverted to my occasional standing and all was fine again.

The seat is sloped better than stock but still ever slightly forward. I will trim the two rear bumpers (I use high setting only) to drop the rear of the seat ~1/4". I found myself moving forward at times and I believe that movement caused some of the discomfort.

I have never sat on or ridden a Tenere with an aftermarket seat so I have no idea how the Moose Racing seat compares to those. Price wise only the Seat Concepts comes close and then you must use your stock seat. Same goes for most custom seat options also. With the Moose you retain your stock seat or can sell it recoup a little.

Overall I recommend this seat. Great value at net cost of $202 USD, quality construction and nice looks. If you do much off road and don't want a wide bucket seat the Moose is a great option. Note this seat is listed everywhere as closeout. Originally priced much higher so I assume not being manufactured anymore and qtys are limited.

I received my seat and installed. Looked like good quality. Super heavy compared to stock. The top suede material scared me as it felt like it would show wear easily and soak up water. Upon first sitting on it, I thought it was more comfortable than the stock one. Did seem to lean you forward more than stock as well (my seat does not have the bumper mod). Rode it to work (35 miles one way). I had hot spots before 10 miles. Made my stock feel like heaven. Everyone's butt is different. I thought it would have to be as good or better than the original seat. My butt told me I was wrong. Thankfully I bought it from a place with a great return policy. Back to the drawing board.

Yup, bike ergo's and preferences can be completely different for any two people. Curious as to your weight. Still though hard to believe it is worse than stock as soo much firmer and better for me. The stock seat I can push my thumb down over 2" but the Moose only 3/4" which is mostly the gel top layer. But then that is my preference, would rather sit on a piece of wood than an overstuffed chair. I didn't update my post but I did slice down the two rear bumpers on my Moose for the high position I always use. Appears to have leveled my seat perfect but today will be my first long ride after doing the mod.

I'm heavy (270). I tried it in the high and low position but no luck. I have had Corbin on a couple of Harley's over the years and liked them. They were as hard as bricks. Wife hated them, but the rider portion of the seats was better formed. I think I am going to try riding the stock seat on this trip. If it gets too bad on the ride, I'll find an Air hawk along the way.

Got mine today, I am going to start with the new seat modded down in the back. It is much firmer than the OE and that is big for me. I will update when I get some miles on it.

Wow, so much to say. First, the seat I received is only about 3 degrees flatter than stock out of the box so I had to do the seat mods. Next after only 50 or so miles the rubber bumpers were all destroyed so I replaced them with stock ones I had. I was disappointed about how small and soft they were to begin with but that is a different story.

Now the current situation: with the rear bumpers removed and a slight lift to the front (via a small pad on the base plastic) the very back of the seat is 2 degrees tilted forward and it is maybe 2 degrees tilted back in the middle. This is SOO much better than stock based on level. Next, the seat is about 2 inches higher than the modded stock seat and the foam is so much more firm/comfortable. The base/frame is much stronger than stock so I think long term it will hold up better.

I Just did a 2.5 hour ride with no issues at all. It took a lot of tweaks, but for $200 I have a seat that is worlds better than stock. I will be selling my stock seat with just 600 miles in the next few days.
