As MarkB said...we're leaving Louisville at 7:30 and should be there by 10:30 Moonshine time.

Here's what I'll be riding, I'll be wearing some of the new Aerostich stuff I got on sale

make sure you wear those "boots" too - the bike looks awesome and that beard...well, it too is stellar.! ::008::

Heavy rain and thunderstorms here now and it's headed for Moonshine. No Moonshine for me this year, sorry. I feel sorry for those camping at the farm. Hope everybody is safe.

Nice meeting you and the others! Glad you made it home safe. We stayed pretty dry on the way home so that's good!

...rolled in around 7:00 pm EST - not much rain at all going home. I would suppose that was because we hit it all the way there.

It was wonderful that Anthony & Mark waited for me - as I was really late due to heavy downpour (*couldn't see*).

MadDog & Valpo - great to throw my hand in yours too.

The mud and rock roads I could of done without - (*no off road skills @ all for me sadly *) but other than that and some local LEO's

it's yet another day of adventure in my memory banks.

I eagerly await the pictures

OK - Here's a few pics. Took a bunch and I'll post the ones of our group here.

(I'll do another post on the 'day tripping' forum on ADV of the leftovers.)

Met Anthony at 7:30 in Louisville to head to Mooshine.

We stopped at Rally's in Vincennes to wait for hANNAbONE (John) and this young feller' stopped to talk riding.

Anthony, being a retired MSF rider coach (the bowed legs prove it!) gave him some good tips. That's me on the right

Caught a fair bit of rain on the way up.

Here comes John.

Howdy boys!

John ran into even more rain than we did.

Ran into heavy rain/wind as we turned west to Moonshine. I heard someone call the roads in that part of Illinois as the 'Tail of the cow', pretty much north/south - west/west squares with a few dips for fun.

Arriving at Moonshine.

Moonshine store just a short walk up to the right.

There she is.

Think the rain cut down on attendance, but still a pretty good turn out.

Just one of the reasons we ride!!!

The famous Moonburger.

Perfection!

Part #2 later!

One correction...being bow-legged was not the result of years spent in service to our Armed Forces teaching MSF courses on military bases (doing my part for the Coast Guards cook's school).

It was a life-threatening injury sustained while ballroom dancing....I started a spinning side pass as my partner did her basket whip

Well, now that you explained it!

Back to the story. They used the honor system for the Moon Burgers. You got your burger, found a semi dry place to woof it down and then paid the nice ladies.

After our burgers we wandered around to gawk.

There was this guy on one of those 'hover-round' scooter/chair things. Next thing I know he gets off it and loads it into this rig and off they go. Awesome!

Damn Anthony...how many of them things did you eat? :D

Cool bikes everywhere.

Some Indiana adv riders I know.

Baby got Back!

I'm walking around snap shooting when maddog5150 (James) & valpofz (Ed) spot me from my pic I posted on this thread.
Gotta' get one of them hats!

Nice rider up from Alabama took the group pic.

Started to rain almost as soon as we left Moonshine, but stopped once we crossed the Indiana state line. John split off and Anthony and I took some smaller roads back to Louisville.

Had a fantastic time guys and it was great meeting everyone. We need to do it again. You guys been to the Story Inn? ;)

Guys, It was great to meet you all. At least most of our ride home was sorta dry. Eagerly waiting to the next meet up. Anthony it was good sharing our experiences about boys, it is always nice to know that I am not alone.

Sorrry that I didn't make this trip to meet you all, I was looking forward to it. I had the pleasure of meeting James last year at Niehaus Cycle Sales, but always look forward to meeting more Super Tenere riders. I was all ready to go, but was really disappointed in the weather when it was time to hit the road Saturday morning. I don't mind a bit of rain, but what we had here was:

THUNDERSTORMS AND LIGHTNING

VERY, VERY FRIGHTENING! :'(

Hope to be able to hook up for future gatherings/rides in the Midwest.
