MIVV Exhaust

Hi all, does anybody have a MIVV exhaust installed on their ST? My bike came with an oval titanium with carbon cap but the original was fitted when I picked her up. When I installed the MIVV to test it out I noticed it was way louder but it kinda made a whistling sound and it melted part of the light/plate holder, so I took it off after a day of use.

Last night while boxing the exhaust up I noticed the baffle had holes in it, which seemed odd as I'd not had that on previous aftermarket exhausts. Grateful if anyone who has this exhaust confirm whether or not the original baffle has holes like in the picture. Also, the inner ring seems to have tack welds, is that normal or should it be welded all the way around?

Those were my thoughts too. I'm going to have those holes welded over and give the exhaust another go. Gotta say I was disappointed with the strange whistling noise, which I assume was due to the holes. Also hoping the melting issue will be solved.

I haven't tried it without the baffle but I can only imagine it is crazy loud!

That pipe may have been a retro fit in the first place, because "usually", or at least all of the pipes that I know of for the S-10, have the end cap exhaust outlet pointing downward so as not to melt your turn signal or side reflector. The one in your picture does not appear to do that.

I don't think it is a retro fit, it has a link pipe and the bracket is fixed from factory. Both fit perfectly and there are no post production welds or bends. It's identical to the one in the picture, which is from the MIVV site, and is not facing downwards. The only difference is mine has a fixed bracket.

If those welds and the off-center, uneven holes are an example of MIVV's quality, I think I'd pass on the brand.

I wonder if it's possible that the factory might be able to send you a new cap. That one looks seriously butchered. :(
