Anyone heading to SLC this weekend to check out the U.S. Round of World Superbike? Unfortunately, I won't be riding in but flying in tomorrow through the races on Monday. Anyone know of any Yamaha specific events going on in conjunction with the races? Miller does a great job of having things to do at the track but I can't seem to find much on demo rides.

I will be there Sat, Sun, And Mon. Unfortunately Yamaha has the demos at some east coast event according to the info I saw.

Yes, no demo rides but the regular display set-up. They do have two blue Teneres here drawing their fair share of admiration from the crowd. One is stock and the other has the Yamaha accesory package on it. Can't wait for mine to get here as well!

Saw the display today, FINALLY sat on a Tenere, and saw my first Tiger XC. Before putting a deposit on a Tenere I was set on getting a Tiger. The value of the Tenere won me over, but after sitting on the Tenere and seeing the Tiger I am totally at peace with the decision. For me, the Tenere is the ultimate bike, ergos are prefect, bike felt lighter on the stand then my 480 lb Multistrada. The Tenere looks well thought out and of high build quality. As for the Tiger, all I can say is the BMW 800 is a more attractive design by far. I would go so far as saying while the S10 looks beautiful in person, the Tiger truly looks better in the pictures. I know aesthetics aren't everything, but the Tiger design is not well done. But opinions are like as...

Got the latest Tenere letter in the mail today, all I can say is I can't wait.

Agreed SB. First real chance for me to scour the S10 as well and I am convinced it is the right move for me. The details are well thought out and the quality looks first-class. I even think I made the right decision to get blue ;)

For those who care, Carlos Checca swept both races and rebounded well from last years technical DNFs. Carlos set the WSB lap record at Miller Motorsports Park @ 1:47.081 in 2010.

Last year's winner, Max Biaggi was Third in race 2 and crashed race 1.

Good stuff SB! The weather was a little dicey for us Southerners but livable - had a great time either way. Thought I would post some of my shots as well....

boy, when you watch it on TV an compare the track and the run-off areas to the other tracks in the circuit and around the world, Salt Lake Miller Park looked like crap!!!! Just my observation!

The scenic mountains/snow/etc... on the outskirts of town are quite beautiful. The track itself is laid out well just has a sandy/loamy soil with a pea gravel top that isn't very pretty and apparently doesn't grow any grass/vegetation well. t was a grey, muddy, deep mess of soup after all the rain. But your point is well taken - not the best looking grounds on TV. And around 3 miles around the perimeter when you are walking around taking pictures!
