Opps, I forgot about the brake light switch recall. I had that done too.

When I knew I was about 80 miles from the odometer rolling over, I planned a route on MyRoute so I'd have a safe place I could pull over and take a photo of the odometer as soon as it hit 100,000. I didn't want to leave it to chance that I'd hit 100,000 and miss that opportunity for a picture. That's how I ended up on an interstate when I hit the magic number; I knew there'd be wide shoulders to pull off on.

Just to make double sure I knew it was coming, this is the screen that appeared on my Zumo:

Wow! How did you get 100,000 miles to appear on your GPS??

When I programmed the route on MyRoute, I figured out where the 100,000 mile point would fall during the ride, and I assigned a waypoint labeled "100,000 Miles!!!" to it. On MyRoute, whatever name you use to designate a waypoint will appear on the Zumo screen.

I hit 150,000 miles each on my previous ST1100 and ST1300. This is looking to be the 3rd bike that I’ll break 100,000 miles on.

The most I ever put on a bike prior to this was 55,000 miles on my Harley Road King. I told myself that I'd start looking for another bike when I hit 100,000 miles, but now that I'm here, a part of me says "just keep going and see how long it lasts".

Not sure I'll live long enough to put 100,000+ miles on two more bikes :).

I love seeing high mileage bikes, because it dispels this weird idea that somehow bikes are worn out by the time they hit 50,000 miles. Even Ryan on Fortnine put that idea forth in one of his videos; normally I really enjoy his stuff, but that one made me shake my head. I know Goldwings are probably in a class of their own when it comes to high odometer numbers, but I think just about any bike made by one of the major manufacturers can easily go the 100,000 mile distance as long as you maintain it. If I see a bike the same age as mine, with maybe only 18,000 miles on it, I don't look at it like a great potential purchase; I see a bike that sat around a lot, quite possibly with very little maintenance being done. Old clutch and brake fluid, old coolant, oil oil, gas, just sitting in it year after year, creating the kinds of issues that cause riders to bitch that "oh, this piece of crap barely runs and it's only got 18,000 miles on it".
