As much as it pains me to even think about it, last year I did a 3300 mile tour, and my hands tingled for a week thereafter. I thought that it was due to it being a long trip and dismissed it as such. Yesterday, after a Fanta 300 mile trip, the same thing happened. Thank god for cruise control, I was able to modify my grip and make it home. I have Oxford grips, and use a variety of different types of gloves. It doe seem to vibrate anymore than it used to, I think I'm just getting old.

I logged an 1100 mile blast on my FJ1200, and not a single tingle, but I don't want to farkle the heck out of the old classic.

I'm a bit bummed, as I've been refining my setup and have it just right for LD work, but this might turn out being a dealbreaker.

Throttle bodies have been synchronized, and it runs like a dream. I think it's just the nature of the beast.

Please don tell me I need to sell it and get a Goldwing...

Not a problem I have encountered touring on my 2014 ES. Are you absolutely sure those TBs are spot on?

I guess you could try Grip buddies - foam grip overlays. They cushion the grips & increase the diameter slightly, but have the downside that they reduce the effectiveness of the heated grips. Some riders find the bar bend or width affects how they grip the bars, particularly the right hand.

Otherwise it could be that you have a case of HAVS, often called white finger, which often results from historic industrial vibration injury: -

Why not see a doctor about it before making any life altering decisions? There very well could be medically treatable solution to the problem. You might have something like a herniated cervical disc, that puts pressure on the nerves that lead to your hands, and gets aggravated by the position you take on the bike.

True enough. I took a fall from ten feet high three years ago, and I've never been the same.

To the Dr we go!

And truth be told, I'd likely go with an ST1300 rather than a Wing...

I get the same. I'm convinced its the angle of the bars. The shape makes the wrists bend and not in line/flow with the arm/hand position. I will change my bars soon

Re the wide handlebars, practicing some yoga poses, the hands can be placed too far apart, they say this pinches the muscles and nerves between the shoulder blades, cutting off energy flow. I've shorted bicycle bars without any ill effects.

Have you checked the tire balance? On my new Tenere the front tire was out of balance by a full ounce, quite a bit. I think I solved some of the vibration felt.

When you sit on your bike, make sure that your elbows and wrist are not at the same level. You will want "in your case" the wrist at a lower level then your elbows. This will enhance blood flow through the wrist. You don't want to be reaching either as it will cause straining in the shoulders.
The reality of it the S10 is not built for everyone's fit, no bike is. In some cases you can adapt or adapt the bike, some times it means replacing the bike for another.
Many bikes, especially with risers put the wrist higher then the elbow and blood flow becomes an issue on long journey's, thus tingling hands.
Seeing a doctor is also a good idea to rule out any underlying issues, a physical doesn't hurt.
Good luck

I have grip puppies..... and a goldwing! Actually have grip puppies on the goldwing as well. I do get some tingling when riding the T12 and often discover I am holding the grips too tight, try loosening your grip a bit before doing anything radical.

I make an effort to keep my grip tight, so that's probably not the cause.

I had a similar issue on the long rides with my 2012, RogerRZ, until I changed the angle of the stock bars and rotated them further forward, thus changing the angle of my arms, elbows and wrists... I did not have an issue with my 2015, could have been the initial dealer setup...

I had carpel tunnel in both hands and worse in left I had to sleed with hand in air to stop the numbness. If from vibration dont rule out tires. my handlebars are solid smooth at anyspeed til i tip it and it vibrates through the bars from tire tread. good luck its ashame your in canada id tell you the bike is a piece of crap and low ball you
edit : just joking

I get bad white finger, from years of fabrication work and construction, go with the advice on bar height and angle, it's what I did, when you spend big money on something you really want you tend to always figure it out, I have risers and have moved/rotated the bars a little forwards, keeping warm and loosening your grip helps, something most people don't take into account also is the diameter of the grips this is a big factor you'll find. Oh and most importantly relax and smile while riding

when unexplained things start happening and no obvious reason . a visit to the Doctor is probably the thing to do ... we all hate it ... but we need to do it .
I had a 1980 KZ 750 , a rocket in its day , 4 cylinder buzz was obvious and numbing to my hands , also blurred mirrors , footpads buzzing . so if mirrors are clear and no buzzing in other places it could be something physical like poor circulation . see the Doctor .
