I have 450 miles on a new set of PR4 Trails, and thought I would share my experience, which exactly mirrors my experience with these tires on my '12 DL1000 V-Strom.

1. They dance around on the grooved concrete of Colorado interstates like a Las Vegas showgirl.
2. They render the bike much more vulnerable to the turbulent air behind semis (relative to Battle Wings).

Other than that -- and the price -- they're great. I seem to recall that they were very confidence-inspiring in the wet on my V-Strom.

Personally, unless I was going to try to get 11,000 miles out of a set while riding the IBR, I'd probably take the Battle Wings. They don't last as long, but they don't cost as much, either.

Others, undoubtedly, have had other experiences...

Thanks for the report.

For the majority of people who's definition of off-road is the grass in their yard and who never try playing road racer, the Battle Wings are surprisingly good and at a great price.

Interesting observations,

I have just fitted another pair of Roadsmart 2's to my bike, was tempted by the newer PR4, but decided as I really cannot fault the RS2 I may as well go with them again (Plus Dunlop had a £30 cash back offer which brought them down to a very reasonable rice)

I think for hard packed gravel and dry dirt tracks )as far as I venture "off road" they will be as good as Faux off-road tyres like the Tourance / Trail Attacks, but they have far better road manners with superb grip in the wet and dry. Also seem to wear well, far better than the Tourance EXP's my S10 came with.
