Re: Michelin Anakees anybody running them?

I've run a couple of rearAnakee 3s to ~13k miles or so. The front A3s suck though. Cup badly and wear in a funky tri-band that made me hate their handling. Do a search here, you'll find various reports of similar experiences. The rears last really well on the street, it's just the fronts that suck. Works fine with a different front, and most front tires last quite long on the Super Ten.

Modified to specify Anakee 3 radials.

Wilds sounded interesting, but Michelin rep told me not to expect much life from them in the wild, no pun intended. He thought slightly better than TKC80s, for comparison. So no road tire, (tyre).

Re: Michelin Anakees anybody running them?

I'm on my second set of Anakee 3's on the Tenere - I had four pairs on my v-strom.

I love these tyres for their versatility (needed in British weather) - they are very good on wet roads, extremely good for throwing around on dry roads and good enough for my use on green lanes on dry days.

I replaced the last set after ~9k miles - most of which were either fast or heavily loaded, the front wore faster than the rear on the Tenere. As EricV says the front gets a chamfer long before it runs out of tread, giving an scary lean-in feeling - they were probably still "safe" but sufficiently un-enjoyable that they needed to go (should have gone at about at 8k tbh).

If I'd ridden more gently and not 1000's of miles touring / speed with luggage they would have run to 10-12k easily.

I'm tempted to try Heidenau K60 - but I ride in the wet a lot, and they don't sound too hot in those conditions.

I used to run the regular Anakee and then the Anakee 3, before the Wild was even thought of, rocketman...
Now I run the Avon Trailrider, which I think is a better tire for me and my riding, 90 street, 10 dirt.....
