Judging by the pic of the 3s. I doubt it will be better than 2s for dirt/gravel. Just not enough lug there. ::001::

No doubt. The Anakee2's are awesome in the gravel. The 3's are just a full street tire.

I'm willing to wager you are wrong on this. Just a hunch but I'll let ya know after I have them on for a bit.

Yes they are strange looking. I have not put my hands on a set yet so we will see. I know Michelin is a big R&D company so I would think they have done their homework on this. Only time will tell. If they come out with the 4 series next year we will know that the 3's were not good.

I am ready for a more street oriented set of tires for the bike. Have been thinking Scorpions or PR3s. When will you have pricing?

I loved the Anakee 2's I had, Great all around Swiss army knife tire. I know the 3's don't look aggressive enough, but agree with firefight911 and guessing they will be quite good. Anxious to hear some field reports.

Hey Guys-

What is your best price on an H rated pair for the Super Ten, delivered to zip 14882? They can be had from various vendors for $297.98 OTD.

Thanks-

Rob

Anybody seen any pictures of these mounted up on a Super Tenere yet?

Thanks!

At speed you'll never see them so, one must ask, who cares?

I'll have them on end of March.

Because then I can see how their tread profile center to edge looks, and that will tell me a ton about whether or not a set will work for me. Some folks like more triangular profiles while others like more rounded ones. Some like a sharp edge to the sides of the tire where it rolls off to the sidewall, others like a softer edge.

I can tell a ton about how a tire will *feel* to me riding just by seeing it mounted on the bike, and I'd just like to see a set on the Anakee 3's on the Super Tenere rims. It'll help me know if I want to bother with trying a set.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a set Anakee 3's . Most of the reviews I have read are very positive. I'm coming off the stock Metzeler tourance exp that squared off at around 8,500K miles.
My dealer said he can get the rear in the same size as stock Metz exp but the front will be 110/90X19 and not the stock size of 110/80X19. Is anybody running the 3's and what size to you have.

Interesting that this thread was started by the Keel Bros, but then abandoned. I tried to contact them a few times, but no answer here... So, I bought mine from Competition Accessories http://www.compacc.com/p/Michelin-Anakee-3-Motorcycle-Tire-Package-Deals

110/80-19 and 150/70-17 H rated. Maybe someone can argue that the V rated version is worth the extra $13... $297 out he door, but I also had some CompCash, so it was about $280 for me... Very happy with speed of delivery.

Spooned them on over the weekend. Slightly stiffer sidewall than the Anakee 2s that I was done with. No mold release on either the front or the back. They were squeaky clean! Rear needed no weight to balance, front .2 of an oz. Great!

Smoother, quieter than the 2s. Nice, neutral turn-in and no standing up under braking. Have only done a short gravel stretch, but they work much better than they look like they should. No squirming and good acceleration and braking traction. Commuted two up on them this morning and they felt great. Running 36 psi F, 40 psi R.

Got 8500 out of the rear Anakee 2, with about another 1000 left to the wear markers. Hoping to do at least as well with these.

Happy so far...

Rob

Got a set of Anakee 3's here waiting to be installed...

After 6 rear Tourance EXP's and 3 fronts I decided it was time to try something else, just for a change. They certainly look interesting if nothing else. To be honest, I've been wonderfully happy with the Metzeler Tourance EXP's I've been running, but ya' never know when or if something else is better 'til ya' try it! :D

So now I'm committed and in for at least two rear Anakee 3's and a front, as I usually burn two rears for every front. We'll see!

Thanks for the info MotoPumps,

My dealer was able to find the correct size but unfortunately my order was at a higher price than yours. Although he cut me a brake on install and tire disposal. (next time competition accessories). Anyways, I think these tires will workout nicely based on the reviews.. this by the way is the latest review I could find.
