My Mum lives in Crookwell, NSW. I'm lucky in that I can ride some really great backroads most of the way.. trying to avoid the major eastern highways.. Down through Kenilworth, Maleny, Esk, Lions Road, Bylong Valley Way, Bathurst, Oberon, etc... it takes ages for me to get to Crookwell compared to driving the 4WD down the highways.. but it really makes the ride into a great road trip (over 3 days).

For more local trips we like to go to places like Cooloola Berries (near Gympie, or ride to Kenilworth/Maleny, or Rainbow Beach. These coffee jaunts are all tarred road. I'm still on my first lot of tyres that came with the bike (2nd hand), and their are mostly road tyres.. not so good on dirt roads and trails... depending on the road surface. It still rides better on dirt roads than my Honda ST1100 but the ST1100 has other advantages of it's own.

Oh, living in Maryborough .. we regularly to a coffee jaunt to Hervey Bay.. as it's only 40 minutes away.

Hey RoddQLD,
That ride sounds fantastic! Might have to join you one day...
I grew up at the Sunny Cost so I know most of the areas your talking about which are indeed great places to ride.
What about your S10? Year? Mods? Klms?

My S10 is a 2010 model and it had heaps of extras already fitted to it when I bought it. Aftermarket exhaust, programmable engine computer, touratech screen mounts (and larger screen), touratech protection plates in all different places, engine bars, electronic cruiser control, heated grips, Yamaha knee pads (on sides of tank), LED blinkers, small toolbox beside right pannier, headlight protectors, aftermarket footpegs, larger footbrake pedal, Yamaha side screens (perspex), and an anodised blue billet aluminium tail-light/blinker/number plated assembly (instead of the original plastic rear mudguard).

I have added Fastflexx handlebars (and also their brass handlebar counter weights), a collection of RAMmount attachments for phone and cameras, a quick connect for a 5 stage battery maintenance charge.,
I have these items but not yet fitted: towbar system, speedo healer. I can 3D design and have a 3D printer, so I have made a DJI drone mount for the screen mount bars, and I'm working on a dash infill (gap under the meters) for USB outlets and switches.

The bike had travelled 19,000k's when I bought it in March, but now has around 25,000.

My sister-in-law lives in Ormeau!
