Hi, I noticed that some part of my gauge cluster were melted. I think it’s because of the Vstream windshield. How would go about to get it fixed?

Also go to salvation army and buy a few T-shirts that will slide snuggly over your windshield. Or... paint the backside of your lower windshield with a flat black paint. If you believe it is the lower section that is focusing the sun beams. Or take it to a place that can put on a dark tint sunshade.

Did you notice the "not in stock"? There was a guy on here selling parts off of a salvage unit. Nevermind, it was for a '12

This can happen, at least to a lesser degree, with even the stock windshield. Mine overheated my instrument pod once and caused the right side screen to go black. The damage wasn't permanent, but it does show how hot it gets when you park where the sun is at just the right angle to the windshield. It only ever happened once, so it definitely has to be one of those perfect storm of right conditions.

Rocky Mountain ATV in the US lists that part on their website. You didn't say what year your bike is, but I suspect that part is the same as the one on my 2014. The part number for a 2014 non ES is 2BS-8353E-01-00, which replaces the older part number 2BS-8353E-00-00. Rocky Mountain lists the part for $191.87.

Rocky Mountain is a great company to do business with. It's my first stop for OEM parts.

You can check your model year on Rocky Mountain's site and see if it has the same part number.

Revzilla has the same part, for a slightly higher price. Their website says it's available, but ships in 1-2 weeks, which is about the same as Rocky Mlountain.

I live with the same set up and same melted panel. I put a hat, glove, neck warmer, whatever to block the sun's rays, but I wonder if the heat of the sun might ignite that material. It's hot enough to melt plastic. Maybe I'll make an ABS sun visor for it. I'm not inclined to spend $200 for a new one that will melt again.

A cheapie Walmart pillowcase or a drawstring laundry bag is an easy solution to the problem. The laundry bag has the added advantage that you can tighten the bag around the windshield to keep the wind from blowing it away. Anything that'll block the sun from getting through the windshield in the first place. Either of them will fold up small enough to not take up much room at all in a pannier.

Not the first, won't be the last:

I like the idea of just putting an old baseball cap on it:

I had the same dash melting twice on my Honda ST1300 with the original shield. The same problem/damage occurred on my 2015 Super Tenere and I made a dash hood out of first plastic, then rubber to prevent damage to the dash surround on my 2015 and my current 2023 S10 ES. Plus, I do slip an old tshirt over the shield when parked outdoors. FYI, I am also running the tall 24” VStream shield.

Did you ever figure out what was causing it? Mine spent a lot of time in the sun, parked on pavement, and never melted; OE shield. There were times that when I got back to the bike, the temp was flashing 122° on the display and the clutch/brake levers were as hot as hell. (Apparently, that was high as the display would go)

My Tenere doesn't spend much time parked in the sun for just this reason.

I am guessing that the sun hit the ST1300 windshield at just the correct angle to turn it into a magnifying glass. Honda replaced the dash under warranty……the second slight burn it was not replaced and after that, a white tshirt was placed over the shield when parked outside.
