I understand V-Stroms can occasionally burn out a headlight harness and many long term owners fit a relay and thicker wiring.
Of course if Yamaha had not tried to save $0.005 per bike and used slightly thicker wiring it would not have happened, but this is the modern world we live in with everyone trying to cut costs, at least the major mechanicals seem pretty solid.
But compared to the half a dozen recalls already affecting another Adv bike from somewhere around Europe within a year of launch ::002::
Interestingly the press made nothing of these issues, and that they are now fitting steering dampers on new bikes - which the press slated Suzuki for really badly with the TL1000S, a fast steering sports motorcycle that can shake its head - almost to be expected, yet our European friends manage to make a 240kg Adv bike that has the straight-line stability as a shopping trolley and it barely gets a mention.
