Our small town is blessed? with 3 McDonalds. One has a bunch of old guys (not me, but I am almost 61) who meet for breakfast every weekday morning, and wind up hanging out there until almost noon. Another has a somewhat limited employee who talks loudly to no one in particular while he is policing the tables and floor.
I recently went to a McDonalds in a whole 'nother city, and there was another off kilter sort who was wandering around talking loudly to employees and customers.
Does every McDonalds have an Old Farts Breakfast Club or a slightly off kilter person? What about your town? I'd be interested to hear if your local establishment has anything like this, or if my local restaurants are the exception.

Theres a McDonald's old fart club in Bellville on 97 and 71. My father in law is there every morning "for his meetings" he calls it solving all the problems of the world.

It seems to be pretty common around the country.

I met these old guys one morning at Mickey D's when I was passing through Sutherlin, Oregon. They were a group of guys that went to school together and now in there 80's and meet there every day. I must have Bs'ed with them for 2 hours motorcycle riding in the fifties and sixties. It was hard to leave them and ended up being on of my highlights of my trip.

Awesome to meet folks like that on a trip.
If there's not a good story in the group, there's always some good BS!

(Note to Mods: we need an old fart emoji like the adv forum has!)

Yep, small town ole geezer club in my town too. Except it's a Whataburger instead of MickyD's.

It's a Texas thing. MacDonalds does just fine here, but Whataburger pretty much smokes em in rural areas.

lol. My wife and I stopped for breakfast at McD's in Mt. Dora, FL. There was an "old fart club" meeting in progress.

I chuckled a bit when I saw them, wife was confused at what was amusing. I told her it must be a national thing because I've seen the old guys at McD's in all my moto travels. McD's is an oasis of wifi, heat/ ac, hot coffee and eggs. If there's a McD's close by, I often make that my morning stop after packing up camp.

I can confirm meetings of the OFC in PA, VT, NH, NY, NJ, VA, WVA, TN, NC, GA, and FL. Maybe it's an east coast thing.

I've seen a little of that in the Johnstown Ohio McDonalds now and then, but I rarely go in. Usually in the drive thru line feeding my wife's $1 coke habit.

Sounds like the OFC is nationwide. It's a good excuse to get out of the house and away from the wife! I have seen it here in Wisconsin too. Several of my neighbors get together everyday for coffee and conversation, usually at McDonalds. In summer, sometimes they venture over to one of the local parks. They have invited me along, but I'm only 60 and not ready to join up. They have the OFC, we have motorcycles.

Not really. I meant that the OFC is a non-internet version of a forum, where guys sit around and solve all the world's problems. Or rather, it's the original version of 4chan, only with fewer death threats :)

For me, motorcycling is that one blissful activity that doesn't involve anyone else.

Here in Western North Carolina a friend started a forum www.cofsta.com = Carolina Old Farts Sport Touring Association. We are spread over a few hundred miles so no McD meetings but we use the forum to plan rides. Usually during the week when the working stiffs can't make a ride. It works well I/we ride a lot. There are soooo many curves here... wait... wait... no no there is No good riding here. Yea, yea that's what I meant to say!

Same here in Ohio, there are no good roads in central or SE Ohio, either! ::003::

Sounds like the OF Breakfast Club is everywhere. Not all meet at McD's; just up the road in Fredericktown they meet at the Marathon/Bellstore/Subway at SR 95 & 13. They should get together and have an Annual Convention, maybe they really could solve some problems! ;)

IMHO

The reason some people seem slightly off is that all that processed food is killing brain cells...

In Ontario Canada motorcyclists of all ages hangout at Tim Hortons...it's a Canadian institution.

Brain cells dying- processed food may be contributing to it, but in my case I can't say it's the only culprit! Mine are dying off too fast to blame only processed food. :D

I like the McD's breakfast but Tim Horton's has better coffee. Yeah, we have a Tim's in my hometown.

I have actually mentioned to some of my friends that we should meet at McD's once a week for breakfast. Everyone was willing but we haven't got there yet. I think we just need to get more older, first! :D

This has been interesting to learn that the OFC is so widespread. I never thought this thread would go to 2 pages.
