Thought I would do a short review of the MCCruise install on my 13 Tenere
Main reason for getting CC was 4 of us had been planning to do the Southern California Motorcycle Association 4 corners ride of the US. We recently just finished the ride on June 5 covering a total of 17,100 km and having the CC was very nice on those long, empty sections like crossing Texas, it felt like that state would never end.
As to how hard it is to install, for anyone comfortable with removing the tank, airbox and ECU that's about how far in you have to go. All connectors and terminals were correct along with the wiring length. It required a fair bit of paitence, especially removing/reinstalling terminals in the connectors and took me a full day to install but overall no issues.
Set up was pretty straight forward and the only setting l changed was the speed increase for each press of the acceleration button.
A little further looking on MCCruises site shows they offer an adapter cable so you could purchase and use the Yamaha OEM left switch unit for the newer Tenere instead of the switch unit they provide. A fair bit more money after you buy their optional adapter cable and the LH OEM switch mind you. I stayed with their switch and also didn't get the speedo correction option which is available to go along with the CC.
It got well tested in the rain and wind when the tail end of hurricane Alberto caught up with us on our final leg home in the mid west.
A few pics. of the unit and the install.
