Has anyone had any experience with Mastech crash bars? The price does not seem bad.

Thank you for posting a link. I am new to the bike world, and their products do look good. I was even interested in their skid plate.

They have a good website, except I can't read most of the information on it. I should have married a girl from Columbia.

Can you remove the side panels without removing them?

MASTECH designed these side engine guards especially for the Super Tenere that are made of steel and powder coated. These adapt perfectly to the lines of the motorcycle and with its strategic anchor points they absorb any fall or accident. It is one of the must-have accessories for any rider in order to keep your bike in good condition especially if you're riding in extreme conditions where a fall can easily happen.

I am very picky (sorry I have a warped engineers mind). I noticed a small thing that maybe the pictures do not show well. On my Rumbux set up the left (and right) side bar mounts using the original plastic yamaha fall guards. This yamaha guard supports the bottom radiator mount (the rubber cylinder) you see in the photo.

The devil is in the details with these products. Mounting points are critical. The system in question mounts using the front engine bosses. Not a place I would choose for an impact absorbing mount. I suspect busting a front engine mount could be expensive.

I wouldd go Rumbux or altrider personally on the bars.

I actually like these. Very minimalist.

You can just make out the radiator mount in the picture.
Can't speak for other bars but the altrider front mounts are very similar to these.

I stand corrected ::024::
I think I see the radiator support now. And you are right, the altrider mounts to the engine front. I now like the Rumbux best, which is good since it was an impulse purchase with little thought.

The price is good on these. I am not sure minimalist would be high on crash protection criteria to me ::008::

The bash plate is rivited. The bars have similar lines to the Altrider, a bit cleaner though, much larger spread on the front cross-over mount. If I ever bend up my Altriders, I'd go this way if they are truly and easily available. ::008::
