Need some input here. I love my ST but I feel that one motorcycle is not enough. Up to this point in my life I sold one to get another but now I realize I don't think I will sell my Tenere at least not in the next several years. I have been looking at the H-D Electra Glide Police models. Has any of you guys had experience with ex police bikes? The other bike I am looking at is a Victory Cross Country.

Can't really say much about this. Those ex PD bikes have had a very hard life ... they do lavish plenty of maintenance on them but they did get a pounding. Good thing is there are spares a plenty and they are relatively inexpensive. Take your time and find the best example you can get .... it'll be cool for sure ::008::

As an affirmed two-biker, I'm biased.

That said, having two bikes for me is like having the right tools in my garage. The right tool for the job is important. Fudging it just doesn't work sometimes.

In your case I'd ask what role each bike would fill. Both can tour, so to me that's an overlap. Maybe you want different flavors of touring, though. Doesn't matter what we'd do, though, as this is a choice for you to make.

Frankly, the Victory has always held my attention, and I'm anti-Harley. Throw in the use factor in police work, the staggeringly out of date technology of Harleys, the noise and vibration and MY choice would be clear. But again, this isn't an us thing. ;)

Bottom line: decide what role\job\niche the second bike will fill in your life. That'll help.

Unless your buying it from a police auction or some place that can verify it was actually a police bike then it may not be an actual police bike. HD sold the Police addition bikes to the public or more accurately law enforcement personnel for personal use. I know two people who own HD Police bikes that were never actually in service with LE. So you may get a bike that has far less use than you might think.

That being said I have two bikes currently.....may even acquire a 3rd ::013::
