I went to order some new oil filters online and realized that Yamaha changed the stock filter part number. This may have been posted already but the new part number is 5GH-13440-50-00. I ordered them from SHS Powersports because they are one of the few people who will ship overseas to military addresses. The filters cost $6.35 each, excluding shipping.

Thanks a ton for providing the updated oil filter part number information. I'm still working on a case of filters with the old part number so I haven't bothered to check on superseded part numbers on the oil filters. I will update "The List" accordingly right now.

Again, Thanks!!! ::008::

Thanks for posting that updated number. When you get them, please measure a filter and post the length!

SHS Powersports cancelled my order due to the filters not being in stock and they don't have an ETA from the factory, so I will not be able to measure the filter after all. Makes me wonder what the change was in the first place. I'm just going to pick up a Mobil 1 M1-108 to hold me over.

Anyone running an Amsoil filter with a SW-Motech skid plate? I measured mine and I'm not sure if three inches will fit. I now have the stock filter on my bike, but I would like to use an Amsoil filter and switch to Amsoil oil for the bike. I think the filter number is EA0M 103. If you have an Amsoil filter with the SW-Motech, What is the part number? Thanks.

Dallara, don't know if this helps your list of OIL FILTERS or not but this was the cross reference table for the KN-204 on the K&N website:

<snip>
Manufacturer Part Number
Arctic Cat 3201044
Fram PH6017A
Honda 15410MCJ000
Honda 15410MCJ003
Honda 15410MCJ505
Honda 15410MFJD01
Kawasaki 160970002
Kawasaki 160970003
Kawasaki 160971068
Kawasaki 160971070
Kawasaki 160971072
Triumph T1210444
Yamaha 5GH1344020
Yamaha 5GH134402000
CROSS REFERENCE WARNING - When a specific filter is not shown in our application search results for a specific vehicle application, it should be assumed that there is not a K&N filter for that vehicle. Any use of this cross reference guide to find a replacement filter is done at the installer's risk.

Says there is a FRAM in there. I'm going to check it out at Autozone and get back to the list...

Added sources and links for 6mm M6 nylon push-pin rivets used on various panels and covers.

Do you happen to have the PN for the replacement headlight harness? I'm trying to order one, but the book only lists the entire headlight assy. Thanks.

Actually it's there listed in the parts catalog, right there on the "Headlight" page with the entire headlight assembly. It's item #5 - "Cord" - and the part number is 23P-83412-00 (or in the USA 23P-83412-00-00).

Hope this helps!

Now added to "The List" on the first page of this thread, right down by headlight bulbs.

Thanks Dallara for this info and again for my other issue on ADV.

Do you know if the European left switch assembly is available through a dealer in the US or do I have to buy overseas?

My pleasure, Jim. Glad to help if I can.

Funny you mention the Euro left-side switch. I was going to try and have my local dealer try and order that switch, but then somebody here on the forum posted a Japanese dealer who would send them direct. Simply to save steps and time I went ahead and ordered one from him.

However, I know that USA dealers *CAN* get overseas Yamaha parts... If they want to do the work. I learned how to get Japanese domestic parts back when I was a Honda dealer and imported a JDM 1983 Honda MVX250F. It took a bit of effort on my part at first, but once I had the protocol figured out it was easy as ordering US parts. Only problem was the time delay. It took weeks instead of days to get the parts, but then that was back in the 1980's. Now I'm sure it's quicker.

Point is, I know it can be done. A few years ago I got some parts for a Malaysian market Yamaha turntable, and that simply took me calling and finding the right person in California at Yamaha Electronics. I imagine any dealer in the USA can contact his parts rep, get whatever Euro or Asian market part numbers he might need for the parts you want, and then order them through the system. But then again, that will take some extra work on both your part and your dealer's.

If you simply want to order it direct from Japan you might want to check out this thread: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=2302.0

Good luck!

in case this hasn't been posted yet, perhaps it can be updated on the first page, but the new rear brake pad set is now 3D8-25806-00-00 instead of 3D8-W0046-00-00

Re: Maintenance Items, Part Numbers, & Accessories

Somthing I found out today is that the KX450F and XT1200Z use the same spark plug, so your local Kawasaki dealer is more likely to have them in stock. That's where I picked up mine after the YAMAHA dealer told me I had to order and wait 2 weeks for delivery.

As of today - 10/25/13 - it appears that Yamaha has finally updated the headlamp sub-harness, and that the new one has been reported to have heavier gauge wiring. Hopefully this will put an end to the issue of melted headlamp sub-harnesses or their plug connectors. With some luck there will be some pictures of one of these updated harnesses soon, and perhaps appear here or in the "Cooked Headlamp Harness" thread.

The *NEW* part number is: 23P-84312-01-00

I have also updated the "Maintenance Items, Part Numbers, & Accessories" post here in this thread with the new part number.

Just FYI...
