I bought my first Subie -- an '06 Outback 250hp turbo OBXT.
I've got 91,000 miles on it, 3rd set of tires, and nothing has ever gone wrong with it.

I flip my keys to my two daughters - they now own 3 Subie's between them.

Even my friends are buying because of my trusty '06.

I'm sold.

I will need to get a car before the snow flies. I was going to buy a new car but I blew the money on a Super10 instead. O:) So I am looking at used cars. Subarus are on my list. However people keep telling me that Subaru head gaskets are like BMW final drives. I might buy one anyway, because I drive so little. But it is giving me pause.
We had good luck with our old Subaru, they were very popular when we lived in upstate NY where there was real snow. Back then their reputation was having to split the case to replace oil pumps.. had it done on ours, wasn't bad. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one in the right shape. Honda Civic's go through head gaskets too...

What happened to the 'rents honda?

I decided I'd rather take the bus, than have a car with a honey badger in the trunk, parked at my house...
