I have the 2” Soupy’s lowering kit on my 2018 ES and I haven’t drug the pegs even though several times it surprised me that it didn’t. Biggest benefit to me is I’m able to almost flat foot the bike. I do flat foot the bike with passenger. I also have the Soupy’s kickstand. It holds the bike up without issues and I like being able to adjust it.
I have a set of lowering links or dog bones, but I never installed them.
Once you lower your bike, you must adjust the front forks, shorten the side stand and now the bike may handle differently and possibly ground strike in steep turns...
So, before you install the links, try:
1.) Buy a good riding boot with a thick sole, or add a thick sole to your boots.
2.) Get a lower seat.
The above works for me and allows me to just flat foot.
Like my luggage setup? Amazon, and a Yammy OEM lower seat.
