Does any one know of any aftermarket option for lower foot pegs or a way to lower the factory pegs?

I'm needing to either have more rise on the bars or lower the foot pegs. I added a 1" riser but could use another inch. The OEM foot pegs are fine but when wet the rubber insert does not quite flatten out enough and I slip around so not entirely excited about those. So figured if I could find a lower peg that would accomplish getting me lower to the bars when standing. Kill two birds……..This would eliminate me from buying a new riser and foot pegs eventually. Thanks for the info.

While you are looking for lower pegs, you could take out the rubber inserts in the stock pegs. I have run mine that way from the first weekend with no issues

I have been using SW Motech foot pegs for 45,000 miles and they helped relieve the knee pain I was experiencing on longer rides. I removed the rubber pads to get that extra drop.

I came from a Gen1 KLR and still have that frugal attitude when needed. The used $25 DR foot pegs worked well though they could have been wider. Difficult for me to believe that someone is not manufacturing a $100 lowered foot peg for the Tenere.

Thanks Tomatocity,

Do those SW-Motech footpegs stick out further than the oem ones? I had bought these for an 1150GS back a few years ago and they stuck out so much they snagged my pant leg once or twice and almost dropped the bike. From the image on the site does not look like the case and they also say they are three inches long so will measure that up.
Thanks again for the link.

The SW Motech pegs are slightly shorter than the OEM Yam' pegs, so while they are 15mm lower they have roughly the same ground clearance. Plenty of other stuff to ground out as well as the pegs however... I like them and I've had the same set on four different bikes now (V-Strom 1000, Guzzi Stelvio, V-Strom 650 and the S10), and as they are now over 5 years old great value for money !

You'd like the Pro Taper Raptor bars. I ran the two inch Rox riser since new, didn't have problems with the lines or anything. While I had the forks out for a rebuild I put Jaxon's long line kit in. Got the slack back in the lines... for about a week. Put the Pro Taper on before the forks were even done. Lost most of my slack again. My grips are now about 3.25" higher than they were. I can stand comfortably now, don't have to stare down at that knife edge of a wind screen right below my nose any more. Some claim the Pro Taper's lesser sweep has aided comfort, I haven't noticed that, but the over all ergos are very nice, the bike 'fits' real well. All on stock height pegs.
