I was looking for a tank bag for my `17 ST. Nothing huge just big enough to hold my phone, wallet, a small camera and a few odds and ends. I didn't want anything that used straps and i couldn't justify spending a couple of hundred bucks for one with a tank ring mounting system. I found this magnetic bag sold by Coleman on Amazon for 30 dollars. I was skeptical but the reviews seemed decent and i figured I would give it a try. I have to say I was amazed at the quality for the price. The bag is constructed of polyester that looks like cordura, the underside is padded wherever it contacts the tank and the zippers seem to be good quality. The only complaint I have is the carry strap has a hard plastic cover and another hard plastic insert that can rattle against the tank. I solved that by cutting off the plastic covering, making a small slit in the strap to remove the plastic insert and sewing the strap back up. Problem solved. Given the small size of the bag the map pocket is really only useful for a few written directions or a very small map but it is detachable so you can completely remove it if you like. This is not a tank bag for your next round the world trek but for my purpose it certainly is up to the task. I can't seem to post photos on this site but i have attached a link to the Amazon listing.

Sure seems like a very nice bag for $30, the reviews are great.
Many years ago I used a magnetic tank bag and it was great but my Tenere came with a Givi lock ring bag and I love it.
