In the interest of full disclosure, I am a member of a local trail advocacy organization here in Colorado Springs.

For those of you who ride in CA or others interested in trail advocacy efforts, you might have a look at the thread I started in the "Tread Lightly" section of AdvRider website. Legislation has been submitted to prohibit National Monument designations that are not supported by local communities. Senator Feinstein is trying to get the President to designate 1 million acres in CA as a National Monument in spite of local opposition.

If you agree with the work being done by ARRA, please forward this information to your riding friends and ask for their support.

Thanks for the reminder! I had received the ARRA email, but hadn't acted on it yet. I've now sent in my response.

Have not clicked the link yet, however please do not forget that state lands also need to be fought over. It is our right to have access to these lands.

Often, at least in Montana, areas are closed simply because money is not allocated to care for the roads, with no public opinion why should they care?
