Welcome aboard. While plenty of folks will chime in with good comments, the search function will fill in any details you are interested in.

Probably the first thing to check would be see if the headlight harness recall has been done, which as far as I know affected all 2012s. Bring your VIN# to your local dealer and they should be able to tell you.

Also whether valves have been checked/adjusted. ~$400 or so at a dealer, unless you are a good DIY'er.

There is nothing to fear here. The recall is minor and simple, and the bikes are stone axe reliable. If it has a 2014+ clutch basket and an updated cam chain tensioner, you're ahead of the game. The CCT isn't hard or expensive, but is an update you'd want to do. The clutch basket thing addresses a vibration at middle RPM that some bikes have and some don't. Apart from that, check the spoke tension, put fresh fluids in it, and ride it like you stole it.

A note on value: there are brand new '13 bikes available for around $9k OTD, so a bike with 27k miles on it should be a lot cheaper than that. I bought my '12 with 26k last spring for $6500 with about $2k worth of stuff on it. Ya that's a bit better than average, but with new ones available for $9k, I'd have trouble going much above $7600 or so for a used one...that's just my opinion.

Enjoy!

My 2012 only has about 60K on it and aint missed a lick. Unless you are seriously wanting OEM cruise and electronic suspension, find the best deal that makes your toy budget happy and pop on it. You can not go wrong.

And welcome to the forum!
