Well, the day is finally here. The last riding day of the season. I will take a short ride on my Honda ST1300, change his oil and filter, then set him to rest for the duration of the winter. Truly, a sad day. One of the prices I must pay for living in the far north.

All sympathy is greatly appreciated; money will be appreciated even more.

I may even feel a poem coming on .... no, sorry, it was gas. OK, that's it from me. Bye. Back in April. R

No, sadly for all of you, I will continue to proffer my paltry preferences, proposals and prejudices. However, they will be lacking even my normal minimal flair, as my sadness and despair will increase with menacing exponentiality. Alas, I am doomed to a 4 wheeled winter. It would be fair to say that I will be .... shiftless.

As I cover my bike, I symbolically apply a shroud of gloom. I am without flair or luster .... as you have come to appreciate .... but even more intense as I prepare to spend the winter sans bike. OH, woe is me. Waste not your sympathies on me, instead make ready your checkbooks and revive your altruistic persuasions as you think of me .... assuming you do ..... OK, it's a stretch. I digress.

I wish all of you a safe and enjoyable winter's riding season. May the dipsticks of the road avoid you, may your tires remain firm and your seat remain soft.

What profit it a man to own a bike, if he can't ride ??? I despair ..... R

It's give and take ain't it, depending on where you live. It's a high of 85 here today, but when the next riding season roles around and your in the high's of 80's ( I'm guessing), it'll be 100 + here. Hope you find enough to do this winter, that it's a short one.

mid-seventies, but thanks for the thought. Yes, I would also despair of extreme warm temperatures. At least a guy could get nekked and do a couple of short rides around town. Protecting yourself in specific bug-exposed areas, I guess. Point taken. But 7 straight months??? That's gotta warrant an honorable mention. Maybe a picture of me at the top of the website?? Perhaps not. OK heading into town. The Great Bear (my lovely wife) is sickly today so I'm going in for some groceries, etc. I guess I'll pick up something for her, too. R

Is that a threat or ... NO, wait .... that's a good thing, right ??? Will I get my picture up at the top?

If you're a moderator, does that mean you have to be a moderate ????

OK, it has turned out to be a nice day. Soaring up to 46 degrees, so I'm going for a little ride. Head 'em up .... R

I can't think of a better moderation candidate. If he can't solve the issue he can soothe us with poetry. Speaking of moderators, does Chad ever show up anymore? I know the bike fell through this year but I haven't seen him around the place at all???

15 mins of low horizon sunlight will not make your neck or any other part of your body red, unless you include the frost bite you'll get for leaving your skin exposed in sub-zero temps.

Damn, I miss Alaska sometimes...

Hey Rem, Need any grumpy IT guys in Whitehorse? I might be able to talk my wife into it. ;) She thought it was a nice place the last time we were there... in Decemeber.

Well, if she liked it in December, she'll love it in July. I sure hope I like it this this December. We had an outrageous amount of snow last winter. I'm a little shy of firewood this year, and as I gave myself a hernia in late May, I haven't been able to gather any. Surgery next week so I can get back to my normal 70%. Hopefully.

Anyway, be sure to give me a shout the next time you pass through Whitehorse, and who doesn't from time to time? R
