For the last few days I have had to sign in each time I visit the forum, even though I select the stay logged in forever option. Today I was logged in but when I clicked on the option to see unread posts since my last visit, I had to log in again.
Anybody else notice this?

Not happening to me - yet. I am using IE/MSN ISP. If I use a software program that uses a cookie eliminator, it will erase all the cookies, some of which I think store the saved user name/password on my computor. Adaware is one of those, IIRC. Don't use it anymore though. Did you guys clean out your cookies/history recently? Maybe that's it.

No haven't cleaned out cookies recently. If I did, I should only have to log in once, but this has happened multiple times this week.

I've noticed this as well. At this point I have no idea why it is happening but I will find out.

I think you are correct in that. Some ask you if you wish to save login info on the computor. I'm no computor 'geek' by any means, even though I've been working with them since early 80's. If it ain't intuitive, it's probably over my head :)

No Problems here over multiple computers and Browsers, while on holidays, :) , and work and home. All good.

Cheers

It's happened a few times to me. I noticed that from iPad the session length pull down is greyed out.

I did some checking and it appears a spammer is trying to figure out passwords. Any time the password is entered as wrong for a user that user's auto login is disabled until they reauthenticate properly.

I'm still checking to see what I can do about this. In the meantime make sure you have a good strong password.

Venture just some feedback. Logged in twice this morning. First time it retained my login credentials, second time I had to put them in. Give the anti-spam software some run time throughout the day, maybe it was fluke on my part.

I also had to login in again this morning. Interesting that when I opened the site, it showed me as logged in. When I clicked the link to show me unread posts since my last visit, I had to login.

Exactly the same as for me this morning. Maybe it was because I have not gone to Church yet this Sunday morning!!! ;)

The anti-spam software isn't doing much, so I've taken to banning the individual IP addresses as they hit the site. The attacks are slowing down, so maybe the guy is giving up.

It's not just this forum, a whole bunch of forums are getting hit with this since 1/31 apparently.

Sorry again guys, I know it's a PITA but there is only so much I can do.

I'm having to login almost anytime I visit the site now - it doesn't seem to retain login credentials reliably.

Not a lot you can do about that... anyone can see a member name and try to log in guessing at passwords. The only real defense is, as you stated above, a strong password.
