Sorry if this has been covered already but I'm just getting around to installing the top case on the bike. The three extra lock cylinders that come with the bike don't seem to work with the two ignition keys....am I missing something? Like extra keys?

Thanks for your help

Clarify "don't seem to work".

Unless a tech accidentally tossed in the three locks from another bike, your ignition key should work in those locks. The extra locks are keyed alike to the ignition and specifically intended for the factory boxes.

EricV, thank you for the quick response..."don't seem" decodes to "don't". I think I threw in the "seem" for the possibility of operator error.

Have you installed a lock core in a box? Or the key simply does not fit into the lock core?

I don't use my oem locks, (non oem bags), so would have to dig for the locks and see what is there. My previous FJR also came with three locks, two of which I installed on the oem bags when they came in. The Super Ten follows the standard Yamaha patern of giving you the extra locks with the bike, in case you buy their bags.

I have 2 sets, I just pulled the extra set and it should fit and turn cylinder back and forth. Otherwise they gave you wrong lock set. There should be a key code on the cylinder of lock, and a code tag on the extra key for bike. I think those codes have to match.

I believe a lock smith should be able to re-key those tumblers... since you've got them in hand and all. LOL, somebody elses bike prolly got your tumblers.
