The one I like is mounted on the front using hardware that extends forward of the lens surface using "stand-offs" or spacers. I would like to know who makes it as I have actually seen it on a bike at the show.
My luck, its unavailable but I figure I would check here and see if anyone knew .
thanks.

Yes, thats the one. Is it the DOT who hasnt approved it or why no U.S. use?
Must be some reason that its not available but it looks like a good accessory.
Is there any other good options? I like to be able to clean it easy.

isn't the light housing itself non-glass...lexan or the like?

why would a person need a cover for it?
Yes the housing is non-glass...however, if you do manage to crack it, the cost to repair is excessive.

I bought the Yamaha part from over seas and I like it. The only other similar light cover that I can think of is this one.

jettcity, I have one on my bike, and like others are saying, we have to get them from Europe. I don't know off hand if Canada is offering them or not. I jsut checked, it is available through Canada.

I didn't put one on my Wing and the sand and small rocks chipped the crap out of it. I'm using the Cee Bailys and would rather throw that out, then buy a new light... :)

;)Cee Bailey makes a great product, attaches with 4 3M buttons. This allows it to be removed for cleaning of the headlight itself, as well as the inner and outer of the protector. ;)

I got the Yamaha protector from a shop in Canada, and it has been quite worthwhile so far. Not just for stones/debris, but also for bugs. It's great to be able to pull the protector off, walk into a rest area bathroom, and wash the bugs off in the sink.

Being in the UK, the Yamaha one was fitted when I bought the bike secondhand. It works fine BUT it is clearly marked "NOT FOR ROAD USE" probably because it scatters the headlight beam. If I'm planning a rare night journey I take it off. The marking is probably the reason it isn't DOT approved for the US.

I have the OEM Yamaha cover, easy on, easy off. I think I paid $125 for it in Canada.
