Yeah, this heat is crazy all over the country seems. We found some good riding tho in those tight 2 lane backroads with trees shading most of the road. Mornings were good till about 10am, it was cloudy also which helped. We had the "chilly pads" by frog toggs, and used them after about 10am, and stopped often for water breaks. I found that it was slightly cooler running with sunglasses and my faceshield open, but the hot dry air chapped my lips and would accel the dehydration.
On the heat off the left side radiator, not a factor to me, more so was the side panels that shield your lower legs from most of the air flow even if you spread your legs. I wear Olympia pants and AlpineStar boots so probably blocks any heat, as I don't notice it.
I didn't beat on my new bike, but I'm really impressed with how it handled all of the roads I encountered, from high speed sweepers, to tight sharp 25 mph twisties. Plenty of power/acceleration.
P.S. RonH, you are a long enduring and patient person. I hope your bike comes very soon and you will be among the riders!
