Now I know why I don’t see anyone mounting aux lights on the fork tube!!! The range of travel of the front fender was unexpected
I went for a short test ride with the new lights mounted about 1” from the bottom of the top tube….Ughhh
Pretty much destroyed my front fender
Can’t get a new one, looking in the forum for a used one. I’ll take it to a body shop next week- hopefully they can repair ? Any DIY ideas I should try?
I moved the lights up about 4” and I’m able to turn the wheel without hitting any of the fairing
I should mount the broken fender now to see if it still hits
Hard lesson to share with the group
Happy Easter!

You're not the first, and won't be the last to do this.

I ended up having a local shop make me custom brake lines to go from the junction block under the triple trees to each caliper, then cut down and mounted the remnants of the stock fender to the bottom of the triple trees with a home made steel plate and secured to the hole in the neck, (where the rubber plug is), with an expansion plug bought at a hardware store.

It looks like the white 2013 front fender is still available from the parts diagram on Rocky Mountain ATV. $141.00
