it does screw in like the factory and no I didn't use silicone. I thought about sealing it but felt that any leakage would just be a seep around the edge and would drain through the housing drain hole.
Interesting. I convinced the guy at Moto Lume to try a CTS-0066 on a bike that has the same signals as our US Teneres.

He reported back the following:
1. There is no locking mechanism to hold the 7443/7440 socket into the housing.
2. The screw hole doesn't line up well and the screw would have to be installed at an angle for it to work.
3. There was gap similar to yours at the top and inner edges.

Are you sure the ones you used were Clear Alternatives brand?

No, I'm pretty sure they were not Clear Alternatives, but I don't know what brand they are. Did you ask MotoLume if they are planning on supplying the correct ones for the Tenere?

I asked. He said they do plan to get the proper signals but has no projected date.
I got the same answer from him two months ago.... There must be a world wide shortage for these clear lenses :)

Apparently Clear Alternatives is out of business. From what I gather, Moto Lume bought their tooling and all of their contacts in China...as well as their inventory at the time. I honestly have no clue if we will ever see clear lenses again.

I'm calling back tomorrow to thoroughly discuss the issue.

Just got off the phone with Matt from Moto Lume.

I just ordered a set of CTS-0066 to attempt to fit to my Tenere.

I should have them in 2-3 days. I'll keep everyone posted.

He also said he was going to throw a couple LED bulbs for me to try in the box.

Stay tuned!

I may have jumped the gun and ordered the lenses and put them on last night. The only (major) difference is that there are no tabs for the bulb to housing to turn and lock into place. I used silicone (it will dry and hold) and put some strips of duct tape on to hold it in place to dry.

Here are some pictures of the "fit".

I had to elongate the screw hole in the stock housing as it is located a bit too far towards the rear of the signal. It needed to be elongated ~1/8" towards the front. This puts the screw JUST on the counterbore, some the screw head still goes "in", others it rests on the surface.

You can see that the "point" side overhangs the stock housing a bit. It isn't terrible, but it isn't perfect. I'm not sure the average person would notice.

As previously stated, there is no mechanical means to hold the socket in. I used electrical tape. Time will tell how well that holds up.

Matt from MotoLume sent me some 7443 yellow LEDs to try out. They are pretty neat since they have black bases and yellow LEDs you can barely see them behind the lens. I recommend you ask him about them if ordering.

I am having some trouble with my Switchback LEDs I ordered from DDM for the front. I THINK they "turned off" on my way to work today. I'll have to keep an eye on this also.

I seem to have narrowed down my signal problem to this:

The lights are "on" and white when I start the bike. If I signal, they turn off and that's it. They never go yellow, they never come back to white.

The rears flash just fine.

I have the following setup:

DDM Switchback up front
Motolume LED out back
Lockhart Phillips 122-7500 universal flasher in place of the stock unit

Any ideas?

Of course I go out to the shop to start diagnosing and would you guess what? They work! Bike on, running, all systems "go".

Wonderful, just what I need. Intermittent electrical fun!

I gave up on the stupid DDM switchbacks and moved the Motolume to the front and put some red LEDs in the rear until I can the fronts sorted out.

Matt at Motolume has been great. If you guys have any questions about anything signal/LED/tail light related, I suggest you call him!

Did you flip the bulb in the socket? There's a right and wrong way to plug them in...
IF so... That's DDM for ya...

No issues here (4k miles) ... It could be the fact that you have used silicone to hold the socket in place?

Has anyone tried this in Europe? We don't have running lights, I have bought the bulbs and it looks like they need 4 connections - we only have 2.

Any advice?

Maybe I need some USA spec indcators.

You need 3 wires, the ground is shared.

Swap in 7443 sockets into your stock signals.
