Heck of a nice retirement gift, I'd say!!! ;)
Heck I would've used Festivus if I had to. I needed to do some fancy tap dancing to get this past my wife. Actually she's the one the deserves the retirement gift for all she had to put up with for my military career. O:)

Thank You for your service to all of us! I appreciate your dedication. Good Luck in your retirement. You deserve the S10.

So, what "retirement gift" will you give your wife for her devotion(tolerance? :D) She deserves no less than you for her service to America, in my opinion.

Thanks for the kind words. And you're right, what families do in support of our military is incredible.

Exactly.....I served and left loved ones behind to support and worry about me. I've also been at home worrying about loved ones away serving. Having seen it both ways, I prefer being in the thick of it, over waiting at home. It was easier by far. You have a good one if she's stuck it out that long.
God Bless you both,
Paul

Same here. I was much more worried when my son was in the Persian Gulf than when I was in the Tonkin Gulf many years ago!!

Amen brother! It made it somewhat easier for me that Yamagal59 was active duty when I met her, but it still wasn't easy when I was out "doing meaningful work for grateful people" , or as she put it, out enjoying myself with the guys. And fun we had.
( sorry, I joined right after 'Nam and was frequently asked to leave, as they didn't serve "my kind" there. I got pretty used to that in the mid seventies)
I consider my lasting marriage to her my retirement gift. The real bonus is that SHE told me to put the S10 on order when I told her about it. Now that's a wife! Win-win all around.

I talked to my dealer today, he was at some "Yamaha Dealer Advisory Council" meetings.

The hold up on the Tenere's are the digital dash and the ECU. The manufacturer for these components was "Leveled".
All other parts are ready.

He was told to expect firmer delivery dates before the end of May.

Also he said PDP was around 1200 with only 46 confirmed cancellations.

Take this for information whats it's worth, nothing "just hear say"

The ECU? That is a pretty big deal. The ECU is one of the most vital components of a modern motorcycle.

Both the dash and the ECU are the sort of specialized, one-off, and complex parts that are often not multiple-sourced so this makes some sense. It also might make sense that some of the existing small Euro markets and perhaps the Canadian production run can be built out of pre-earthquake stock, whereas the US production run, being relatively large, will require new parts, probably from a new supplier.

If this story is true, I wouldn't have high hopes of bikes shipping much earlier than Nov (or whatever date it ends up being). If everything is held up for something like this, the delays are likely supplier setup delays and nothing will ship until the last instant, then everything will ship.

Perhaps, but other info we have is that the Euros are selling poorly (thus the "free bags" incentive) so they have plenty warehoused for the year.
