Hi,

Has anyone got the complete screen adaptor kit and satnav bar to convert an early model xt1200z (2010)to the later screen type (2014 onwards)?

Cheers

Not going to happen unless you replace the entire plastic frame which the fairings, windshield, and headlights mount to. The upper portions of the stays are curved differently for the different generation windshields.

I think your incorrect the earlier models screens can be fitted to the later bikes if you take all the later models height adjuster etc off. Ill check the part numbers for the main mount, but im sure I have read loads of times where people have fitted the aftermarket screen for an earlier model super ten on to their bike by removing all the later bikes screen adjusters etc.

Surely MadStad is the way to go for Gen1 bikes, if you want/need this degree of adjustability. I can't believe the Gen2 conversion is viable finacially, indeed finding a wreck/breaker with an intact front end seems a bit unlikely.

If airflow is the issue, always fit a set of winglets, OE Yam seem OK, or aftermarket options. Plenty of ideas around on here - just 'search'.

The plastic main stay is the same part number now, superseded. The '14+ adjusting stays, 3 parts, are $90 without all the little bits. MadStad or Touratech still make mounts for the pre'14. MadStad is $140, 10 extra if you need a 1/2" cross bar instead of their 'normal' 7/8" one. Touratech is $170.

Meaning that you won't go to ProCaliber or someplace to get the stuff? Not much reason for anybody to remove theirs to sell to you, they'd just have to go out to ProCaliber or someplace to replace all the bits. If you absolutely need used parts for some reason, somebody might know of a wrecker with a Ténéré. The only problem there is if the bike is wrecked, the rider most likely broke all that stuff with his spectacular dismount.

The problem is that here in the UK, the same parts cost 3 times as much as the USA.
