Why is not really a town IMO, I would call it a crossroads. I've passed through hundreds of times and cannot remember a single proper eatery only gas station sandwichs and hot dogs. You could go north a bit to Ajo though and have some choices. Or south about the same distance to Sonoyta (bring your ID).
I’ve been through Why several times but don’t recall ever stopping, for some reason Garmin doesn’t acknowledge it as a town. Google says there is Grannymacs restaurant on Longacre st, maybe across the street from Texaco. Either way, we will find something. Just look for a yellow bike!
And look for a dirty blue bike. I washed it when I got to Havasu, but is was dark, and the poor bike was REALLY dirty. I'm kind-a afraid to see it in the light tomorrow.. I saw two eatin places on google maps...I'm more interested in getting a pic of the bike in front of the town sign, after all, why not?
I really enjoyed the lunch Garry, I think we should do it again...
I didn't care to much for the dark roads on the way back...my eyes aren't so good anymore. My wife is making me an appt with the eye doc for when I get home. If we do do this again I need to either stay in Tuscon or make the meet place closer to Havasu.
I can't get my camera pics to load here...'to large' and I didn't take any with my phone.
