I am thinking about a new seat for my 2014 ES. All I have is skin-over-bone for a butt. I would appreciate any insight(s) you might offer me if you have this seat. I usually use an air hawk on my current seat. That helps but I thought a new custom seat might do the trick.
Thanks for taking time to comment on this seat. I am going to Alaska, this summer, from Upstate New York and figure by the time I "finally" get home my trip will be about 15,000 miles. At 68 I need to take care of what is left of my ass.

I Love mine, totally transformed the comfort of the bike. Seth Laam will customize your seat to your weight and physical requirements...

I rode the stock seat for 18K miles, hoping my own seat would break in. It never happened. Got the Laam rebuild this fall and highly recommend it.

I hsave bought Russell Day Long seats for previous bikes. I decided to try a Seth Laam seat for this bike. I often ride 300-400 mile days. The Seth Laam seat has been great. Seth was great to work with.

I still believe the best seat out there is a RDL but for the money, the Seth Laam seat is a great seat.

I have Laam seats on the Tenere and FJR. Fortunately, I am close [enough] that I did ride-in appointments for both bikes...nothing like a good reason to ride!

Both seats are all day comfortable and are a huge improvement over the stock saddle. I had the seats narrowed in the front to provide a bit more secure footing while stopped. Give Seth a call to discuss your needs / wants and he'll set you up.

Good luck!

I did a ride in conversion of my Seat Concepts seat to Seth Lamm this summer. I've had a number of different seats on other bikes, Seat Concepts, Russell, Bill Mayer, the original Mayer, Sargent and Corbin. If you don't slide off of the edge of the seat when you're cornering aggressively, then I still prefer the Russell like on my FJR. Strangely, even though asked, Seth didn't take any measurements -- just asked where I positioned myself on the bike. The Lamm seat on my Tenere isn't quite wide enough and doesn't cup my butt like a Russell. That said, I can still do 500 mile+ days --- just not with the same level of comfort. I do think it was an improvement on the Seat Concepts version -- although I'm happy with the SC seats on several other bikes. As always YMMV.

Russell...hands down. Seats are a no-compromise item for me. If you're flirting with greatness, don't settle for something just a bit cheaper. You're nearly there!

+1 for Russell. I have a Laam saddle, and while it's a good, affordable upgrade from the stock saddle, it's not a Russell DL saddle. Seth is great to work with, and turns out a nice saddle, but if you're looking for the real deal, no compromise comfort, Russell DayLong is the way to go. I had a Russell on my last bike (Honda ST1100), and I never had to think about my butt, no matter how long the day on the road was. Can't say that about my Laam. I'm not complaining, I'm think I got my money's worth. But in the long run I should have gone for the Russell.
