Hello and thanks for approving me! I bought a KLR last September and grew bored within half a year or so. It just doesn't have the comfort or power I've come to realize I want. So...I put a deposit down on a 2015 ST and will be picking it up closer to the end of the month. I test drove the ST twice and think we're a great match!

The KLR was my first bike and it helped me figure out what type of riding I'm mostly interested in which is exploratory riding. I like to travel an area and just see where the dirt roads take me. I love to ride and it has become an essential part of my life but even more so I like to explore and an adventure bike unlocks areas I cannot walk and/or drive to in a day.

I'm not especially fond of technical trails so the extra weight shouldn't be a huge issue. I was not comfortable on the highway with the KLR so my riding was mostly within 50-75 miles of my home. I'm looking forward to the ST unlocking more of Arizona and the region for me.

I've been reading this forum quite a bit and find the amount of information impressive. Thanks again!

Well...ummm...Welcome aboard. Probably a few folks out there who liked the KLR, but realized it wasn't as "long ranging" as a twin...especially something with say..1200 CCs!

I moved from the KLR to a V-Strom, but the big strom, though more road worthy, couldn't get out of its own way in the dirt...so...Super Tenere.

Besides, ya like any bike with the word "Super" in it's name!

The KLR is a relatively inexpensive way to see if you want to go that way. The only thing that really bugged me was the oil consumption at speeds of 70 m.p.h. and above. But yes, you are going to love the Tenere! ::001::

Yes I definitely agree about the KLR. One of my chief complaints is the way the KLR feels at 70...like I'm asking too much of it. So I'm looking forward to multiple cylinders.

Welcome aboard! The ST is just made for the desert southwest, and having lived in Phoenix when i bought mine, I know there are thousands of miles of trails to explore. Crown King (from the south side), Seven Springs/Bloody Basin Road, and the Mogollon Rim are all rides that can be done on the ST. Definitely invest in a good skid plate, and some 50/50 tires...

Boy are you right! I've been on CK from Black Canyon City, 7 Spring and Bloody Basin Rd but am dying to ride the Rim. I know the value of a good skid plate...I have the JNS on my KLR now. Thank you for the welcome!!!!
