Can anyone comment or have a review of the Klim Latitude Misano Jacket? I live in a hot and humid climate and was wondering what the airflow might be like. I like Klim's attention to detail and there worthy durability. I also read that its lighter than the Latitude.

My comment, this gear is too expensive for the average rider. Yes, I spend alot of money on bikes but the cost of gear should not be that high. I T I S C L O T H I N G, it should not be 1500.00 US dollars for jacket and pants. OK i feel better now. I think i saw an 800.00 price tag on a jacket, the 500.00 one had no liner? ok, maybe I am crazy. ::017:: ::017::

yes klim is bloody expensive (badlands pants and jacket $1400 and change in canada)
but...fantastic fit, the kidney belt is a treat, and completely waterproof.
To boot the venting is great.
I usually leave the office in the summer, throw the gear on, open the vents..comfy ride home,
25-30 deg C heat no worries

Have the regular Latitude and ride in Florida heat all summer - no hotter than any other gear and flows plenty of air.

You're going to be hard-pressed to find any US made riding gear these days. I think Aerostich Dariens and Roadcrafters are probably only game left in town. Aerostich makes good stuff but it is fairly utilitarian. Big pluses are their custom sizing services and repair services. And they're honest and straightforward.

After a year, I'm extremely pleased with my Latitude jacket/pants. The quality to my eyes is as good or better than the textile gear I've bought in the last decade or so from Aerostich, Firstgear, Belstaff, Fieldsheer, BMW, and Olympia.

I echo the previous comment about Latitude (not Misano) airflow and heat. It's Okay up to about 90 or so, but beyond it can get bloody hot. Short of full-mesh gear, I don't think any other comparable gear does much better. (And mesh-gear is the cat's pajamas for really hot weather but it will freeze you out if the temp drops so its not very practical for touring.) With respect to lowers, my Aerostich may have the slight advantage because it has full-length pants zippers that allow you to drive around with your pant legs flapping in the breeze, but if you start unzipping them very far, you lose the crash protection. Jacket-size, the Aerostich Roadcrafter and Latitude seem about the same.

Sorry, don't really know how the Misano and regular Latitude compare heat-wise.

All Klim gear is Chinese made, that gives a pretty good review right there. There is good China products out there, but for all intents and purposes peddling high line products built in China for full price= GREED.They won't get $0.10 of my money. So they pay $5 to the Chinese workers to build a jacket and sell it for $500-$800??? Haven't looked and don't care, it's Chinese junk. OK, not junk, Chinese merchandise. :D makes it OK, as we can't build anything in USA. They have the Klim factory, what factory is that? The guys that schedule shipments from China I guess? DON'T BUY THEIR GARBAGE!!!!
I don't know about you, but the Klim stuff is the best fitting/waterproof gear I have paid for to date. EAsy on, easy off, try that with a roadcrafter suit.
a lot of things are made in china now in days, as long as the quality control is there, and the customer service is there, i'm happy

Interesting topic for me as I have been searching for months for that "just right" jacket and riding pants. The Klim gear is as close as it gets probably, but it has been difficult to overcome the price point in my mind and likely it will be a while before I cave to spending list price, so the search for that price / performance balance or USA made continues.

Funny though, I picked up a new jacket last week as a replacement to my old "temporary" $99.00 Bilt one that I bought to keep me going until I found again that "just right" set up. It's been one year and I broke a snap on one of the cuffs, so I brought it in to see what could be done to repair it. They said that they could fix it but they did not have the tool at the store at the time, so they said they would replace it under the warranty. Very cool to honor that policy I thought. Also I noticed that they had this new line of adventure gear and I asked if I could possibly trade up if it fit and they said sure. So I paid an extra $100 and ended up with this Explorer jacket. I only have one ride on it but so far so good. VERY comfortable and good fit like the old one. Also there are plenty of vents and pockets to work with. And actually the quality is pretty decent looking for a Bilt jacket.

We shall see if it If it holds up, but from the initial looks of it this will be a good "temporary" for a long time. Likely I will upgrade the armor soon though.

I'm probably going to go with the Olympian line myself. Seems to be the best cost vs quality I have seen.
