How tough is it to make the lock tumblers "keyed" to the ignition key? I'd like the same key to open all three if that is possible.
It looks like it can be done on the Yamaha videos.

Your bike should have come with locks keyed to your ignition.

I ordered the boxes seperately when I bought the bike. The bike did not come with the boxes. The service department is going to have to try and figure it out or I will be doing it.
Hopefully this is not a problem but I pick it up today.

I've talked to Gerald down at D&H in Alabama about this and he says it's no problem. If the dealer can't do it find a local locksmith.

If you are picking up the bike today, new, the cylinders for the boxes should be in the compartment under the riders seat. If there not there the dealer should take care of it because it is part of the bike and someone has lost them. They should replace them.

As Howier said, the 3 lock's for the factory bags/tail trunk come with the bike from the factory. They are in a plastic bag that should be under the seat. These locks are keyed the same as your bikes ignition.

All posters above are correct. 3 keyed lock cylinders (with backing plate and 2 torx screws each) should be included with every new motorcycle.

Best,
Andy

Thanks for the feedback but I bought the bike WITHOUT the bags and ordered a set of OEM bags for it. I am wondering if I will have to "rekey" them or will My original OEM ignition key work? I am sure they all come with a key if you buy them seperately (like I did) My bike did not come with the bags.

I ordered my bike and then later ordered the factory boxes. They came in without a lock set.
The 3 lock's for the factory bags come with every new bike from the factory with or without the bags. They are in a plastic bag under the seat. These locks are keyed the same as your bikes ignition. Your new factory bags may not come with a lock set unless you orded them and a lockset?

It does not mater where when or how you get the side cases the 3 locks that fit in the OEM cases are part of EVERY new bike!

I was assuming that he looked under the seat and didn't have the locks?
