I was helping a good friend with his Tenere yesterday doing some very general maintenance. When the air box and throttle bodies were taken off, I looked down on the intake valves. (as I always do with all bikes I work on) They were 100% totally clean, like a brand new bike with no miles, off the factory line. The bike I was looking at just turned over 104,000 K miles. Ive worked on a ton of Super Tenere's, I don't ever recall seeing valves this clean.

*He used a (glug) of Sea Foam about every other tank. 'often'
*He rides the bike pretty hard and gets the RPM's up everyday.

*My suggestion is to use Sea Foam pretty often (or your favorite fuel cleaner)
*DON'T lug this motor. I always suggest getting the RPM's up to 6-7K + at least once each ride. RIDE THAT SUCKER. You're not going to hurt it.

With 104K miles the bike still runs and rides like "new"... I was most impressed with those spanking clean valves. WOW.....

Ride safe, have fun !

That's great information.
I'm the one that's always keeping things way too long. Always looking for better ways to get the most life out of everything I own.
Thanks for sharing.
