Hello folks! I just got back from placing my order for an Impact Blue Tenere. I live in Southwestern PA and traded my R1200GS in on the Yamaha. I'm taking a bit of a leap of faith since I have yet to see or ride the Yamaha, and have been riding BMW's for the past twenty plus years. I got tired of having my BMW in the shop (It sat back at the dealer over a month waiting for parts/repairs) and dealing with incompent techs and dealers chargeing a fortune for maintence (12,000 mile cost me $675 - and they couldent even fill the oil correctly). I'm looking for any information on accessories I can order in advance while I'm waiting. Any help anyone could provide as far as Exhaust, panniers (I'm looking at Micatech V2's), and additional lighting would be deeply appreicated.

Congrats on your new ST. Are you without the GS now or they will take it when the ST comes in?
Lots of great info here and on AdvRider.
Check waspworks for custom farkles for the ST. He is working on an adjustable screen mount, exhaus, pillion peg hangers and more.
AltRider also has stuff to offer as well.
Congrats!

Congrats Grunt58! I was considering the BMW F800GS and read about some service horror story in my area (Southeast) when a guy had a brand new engine go out and couldn't get BMW to replace it. Took him over 9 months to get it all worked out...............that was one reason why I went with the ST. Plus, I've owned 2 other Yamaha bikes and been very pleased with both of them.

I dropped off the GS today. Sad to see it go but just didn't have the faith in the marque I once did. It did take of bit of research and discussion to find a dealer that would provide a fair value on the GS. I do a lot of miles and hit a ton of Rally sites do I have my fingers crossed that the Tenere will get here some time in May. This bike seemed custom made for my type of riding without the high maintenance costs and restrictive dealer network. Its going to be nice to know I can find a Yamaha dealer in almost anywhere I may roam. I saw the Wasp stuff and I've been over on AdvRider for years. (got to get me another ADV sticker....) Is there a site for the Wasp stuff and any projection as to when he may have it ready to sell? Thanks for all the scoop and the welcome!

Check waspworks.com and motorradgarage.com as they are friends and I think work together.
Wasp has a thread on advrider with lots of info on his creations and experience with the ST.

Blue is well known to be good for 3-4 mph at the top end. I read it on teh intertubes, so it is a proven fact. :p
