So I would like to tell you guys and gals a story. I don't even charge a cover for your ears, but, all I ask, is that you do not judge me on the one occurrence alone... Please? Lol

So have I have owned my S10 for a bout a week now. Long story short. Last night I change the oil, drive around the block, pick up, not one, but two bloody nails in my rear tire. Not too pissed off because the tire was almost dead anyway, I plug the holes just so I can make it to the bike shop the coming weekend. I park the bike in the garage go to bed and drive my truck to work.

I come home and try to start the bike to check oil levels. No luck! She turns over but doesn't start. I check battery voltage (it's a new battery. 4 days old just installed it) voltage is good the bike was on the tender all night. I pull fuses, I check gas and about a dozen other things. So I proceed tho google the inter web and found me a slew of page after page after page of not stating and or hard starts.

Kinda annoyed I think o will call the dealer wher I bought the bike and seek advice. Vuala, the (super nice) guy who sold me the bike answers the phone. I explain the situation. He ask that I hook the S10 to my truck battery, effectively jumping the bike. I say no problem, I have a 15ft battery tender extension with clamps and I will call you back as soon as I have this hooked up.

I walk to my truck, which is parked behind my bike and "pop the hood". I hookup the clamps and as I turn around and face the rear end of my bike. I notice something.... it was in this moment I realized exactly how many thoughts can go through a mans mind all at the same time. After I realized why the bike is not stating, I thought, how in gods green earth, do I call back and admit what I just saw. Because it was at this moment, I realized that I wanted to wash my bike earlier that day and I proceed to shove the exhaust "water plug" in the exhaust when I got home and forgot about it.

I called the dealer and again, vuala! It's him, on the first try!!!! We had some good laughs. Lol

No judgement from me. I've done similar (actually worse) things. Welcome to the human race.

Nice happens when I hose off the dirtbike all the time. had to put a long streamer on the plug.

I'm curious...was it an aftermarket exhaust? The OEM S10 is sufficiently turned down that I never considered using the plug.

Yes it is ORM and you most certainly do. It need a water plug for the OEM exhaust. I just had a really pretty red Yoshimura plug that came with the RS2 I installed on my KLR and in that moment I found my self with the plug in my hand next to the bike, I could not think of a better place/use for the completely unneccassary plug. Lol
