well i just bought a lightly used 6000miles 2014 es. i never liked the engine harsness of the 2012 on power delivery. i liked the 2012 4000rpms and higher or faster speeds and hiway. but liked all the rest this bike has to offer. i had posted a tread asking the difference between the 2012 and the 2014 mostly concerning engine caracter and power delivery and the response from members who had the 2012 and went for the 2014 were very positive stating that the results were a very different smoothed out engine, much more refined. well i have to say since i did try the 2014 today before buying that it is realy as if this is a completely new and revised engine, completely new bike. Yamaha have done more then what is advertised. even the transmission is much smoother. i just had to buy. being used i got a good deal. it's equipped with the givi adventure side cases, very well bilt but i still prefer the yamahe side cases. if you want to change to the 2014 go for it you will surprised ofr the changes. thanks
