Doesn’t removing the sensors cause an error code?

Seems like removing the sensors would cause issues but since the Flash dude is the one that recommended it maybe not ? Has the mpg changed any since removing the 02 sensors ?Doesn’t removing the sensors cause an error code?

I might try this. My gen 1 has a surge at 2000rpm I hate. It's been flashed has headers and a pcv. The 2000rpm surge is a bitch at about 13 mph. Picking my way thru ruts and stuff is a PAIN with the surge.Just thought I'd chip in with the solution that worked for me........
I removed the TPS and cleaned it out using contact cleaner and compressed air, whilst rotating the shaft.
Disappointment later followed when my test ride revealed this had not cured the snatchy throttle (at 2-3000RPM).
I was now running out of options (already done ECU remap, TB air screw adjustment, TB synch, CO increase, and reduced throttle cable free-play). However, a telephone call to my ECU remap man (Grant at Wiz Performance) provided a glimmer of hope.
He suggested the fueling was being leaned off at low RPM, and it was caused by the Oxygen Sensors.
I just disconnected them at the loom, went for a test ride and well, elation followed - the dreaded jumpy throttle was cured!
To say I'm happy is an understatement. I'd been thinking recently of selling the Yam as the snatchy throttle was spoiling what was otherwise a very good bike that really suited my requirements.
As for the Oxygen sensors, it seems their purpose was to ruin the smooth running of the engine for emissions reasons.
I have now removed them and inserted some Stainless Steel plugs in the downpipes.

I Had adjusted my co2 up to something like 50 messing around a couple of years ago and forgot about it.I put it back to 8 and the urge is almost gone. Hardly noticeable only in first. My bike runs great. It just doesn't get very good mileage. I can stick my finger in my tail pipe and it's almost clean. Seems like it would be sooty if it was rich.Did you fix the stuttering Tenman?
I've disabled the O2 sensor on my Husky. I just followed a thread and it seems to have worked. I have made quite a few other adjustments to cure fueling issues, stumble, etc though. Also, when you see the OEM fuel map readings you’ll understand why it was jerky in the first placeWell I have done Tremor 38's fix this morning on my Gen 1 ... wasn't too difficult and I am a proper sausage fingered muppet as soon as any tool is in my digits but I took my time ... if anyone tries it this was what I found ...
Did the 'hold the tank up with a rag and bungee' method (having remembered to free off the two pipes first ... well once I figured why it was not coming up easy ) ... once up I had a brew and 4 jammy dodgers and just looked at stuff ... the security screws are indeed a pain and I had no replacements so had to fiddle them back afterwards so more numb fingered swearing! ... also found I did not really need to remove the air box as I could get at the cover easy enough? ... then I cleaned everything off with contact cleaner even though I have no idea if that helps? ... then sprayed everything with GT85 and again no logic but seems that its moving parts so should do no harm? ... then it was 5 x 20 rapid movements (wife used to work away a lot so I have experince to fall back on) ... then everything went back. Took about an hour but I reckon now I could do it a lot quicker. Took it out and went around the city centre which previously would involve lots of little clutch slips to prevent looking like a kn*b head due to pogo antics ... and ... smooth as a babys bum!!!!!
How long it stays like that is anyones guess but I have my flash booked in at CJS in Bristol on the 14th and so if that helps and this helps and I maybe have to repeat every few weeks I can live with that. I have to say that on the short test ride it really made me love the S10 even more without the annoying throttle antics so just hope it lasts a while, fingers crossed!

All EFI engines cut to zero fuel on a closed throttle as far as I am aware, then resume as revs get to tickover. Great that you got it sorted though.Chris did the remap and explained how Yamaha set the bike up so that fuel is cut off completely when shutting off the throttle (something to do with Euro regs) and then fuel is shot straight back in when the throttle is opened again ...

Could well be mate ... he was explaining it to me but to be honest he might as well explained it to pigeon and that's an insult to our feathered friend ... but it was something to do with the way fuel is starved and then reintroduced and he has sorted it ...
